History of Monkey part I

Let's start from the beginning. Our band started as a group of people who didn't have a clue what was going on. Nick and James T. got together one day and said, "You know, we like playing guitar, we should form a band." So James T. decided that he would play Bass and Nick would play guitar. They then decided that they would need a drummer and probably another guitar. So they went out and asked their drummer friend Sam if he wanted to be in a band and play trap. He agreed, and then they went to James P. He agreed. And that was the start of the band.

So now we are all together, and none of us has any clue on what to do. So we start learning covers, just like every other band, and we learn them badly. Then came time for our first performance, James P. stays on guitar, Sam stays on drums, but since none of us can really play and sing, James T. gets kicked to vocals (a very bad move) and Nick moves to bass. So we do our first performance playing only a Silverchair song and we do it in drag. That's right your most favorite band did their first gig in womens clothing and on the wrong instruments. For that show we were known as Loophole.

After completely sucking, we decide to get a singer. Our first singer was a guy named Ram. We all went back to our rightful instruments and we jammed a little with Ram. We were good, but we sounded like Rage Against the Machine, and the original guys in the band didnt' care for that style too much. But we played another gig. Actually, the same gig as before so all of us were in drag again. That also sucked bad. After that Ram left and quit talking to us so we found another singer named Ray.

Ray never got to perform with us, but we had a name change. We were know Samuri Jim and the Spooge Monkeys. It was with Ray that we started to play ska. For once everyone was happy with the musical style we were playing. Then it came time for Ray to go to college. So we parted ways, and once again we were without a vocalist.

Next we tried Nick on vocals. Let's just say that didn't work either. Then, while on a trip to Renaissance Music, Rachel (James T.'s woman) saw an add on the wall

It was perfect. So we called Dave and got him over. He listened to us and all of us agreed that this would work. We started practicing together, but something was missing. We thought about it, and both Jameses realized that the music needed horns. Finally they convinced Nick and Sam. Nick agreed to play trumpet and we picked up Tony on trombone. That's when it all clicked. And now we are the Kung-Fu Monkeys.
