Independence Police Department consists of Seven full time employees,one reserve officer, and a elected police chief. Our jurisdiction is approximately 2.23 square miles, located just South of Amite, in central Tangipahoa Parish, Southeast Louisiana. Independence has a population of approximatley Seventeen Hundred Twenty Four , and is known for its Italian Culture, and has a Festival in April each year to celebrate.
