"Remember 9/11"
-BIO-
"THE FIVE BOROUGHS" When five transplanted New Yorkers decided to carry on the tradition of '50s and '60s vocal group harmony in the '80s, South Florida became the instant beneficiary. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Broward County in general experienced a heavy influx of immigrants from the northeastern states during the '70s and '80s. Among those easterners were a group of men who, like many of their transplanted neighbors, were in middle age and had grown up listening to the vocal group sounds played on the radio in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Pittsburgh, and this elite group had sung with professional groups in the '60s and were once again drawn together by their common interest, traceable back to the streets of BROOKLYN, QUEENS, MANHATTAN, the BRONX, and STATEN ISLAND-hence, THE FIVE BOROUGHS. With the release of 150 songs on numerous labels since 1985 to present, THE FIVE BOROUGHS performance opportunities were multiplying, they soon found that their versatile harmonies were in demand as backup for a myriad of '50s, and '60s lead singers coming south to perform. As the population of Florida increased, so did the interest in having more of the old groups perform, so THE FIVE BOROUGHS found themselves performing with every artist of the '50s and '60s era. THE FIVE BOROUGHS have performed throughout the United States and on numerous RADIO, TV, and most major venues throughout Florida. Today THE FIVE BOROUGHS consist of (6) front singers and a (6) piece backup band, all together they, THE FIVE BOROUGHS have 45 years of musical performances for tens of thousands of satisfied fans.
