Welcome to our class! We are a first grade class in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Our school is the Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts. Each week, we take Art, Music, Drama, Creative Writing, Dance/P.E., Library, and Strings. Please visit the Home Page Link to our school. We are currently studying cultures around the world in a unit titled "Many Places, Many Faces". We are taking mini "trips" to various countries throughout the year. We even have passports in which to record our adventures. We illustrate pictures that we create with our "cameras". We like learning about the music and art about each country, also. We are watching real caterpillars change into beautiful butterflies. They are in the chrysalis stage right now. We can't wait until the butterflies emerge. We are going to have a Butterfly Release Celebration! We are participating in a post card exchange with classrooms from all over the world. We mailed 126 post cards with information about Louisiana. We are locating the classrooms on a map as we receive our post cards. It is a great project ! We will scan some art work for you soon! We would love to receive an e-mail from another class!
