Atmosphere: 4 of 6
Food: German/Swiss - be prepared to be served twice!
Beer: German specialities

  • "Bale", i.e. Anker (CH, blond): beer-coloured water 1 of 6
  • "Berlinoise", i.e. mix of Paulaner (D, white) & sweet maroon beer: 6 of 6 - best beer experience in town, a bit pricey but worth it
  • "Hamburgoise", i.e. mix of Paulaner (D, white) & sparkling wine: 3 of 6 - unconventional stuff, not bad, but quite expensive
  • "Munich", i.e. Paulaner (D, blond): 4 of 6
  • Schneider Weisse (D, white): 2 of 6 - high dentist's office factor
  • Gueuze (B, red): 3 of 6 - warning: very acidic (lambic)

  • Kwak (B, maroon): 4 of 6
  • Hacker & Pschorr (B, white): 4 of 6

    Food: Good and inexpensive pizzas
    Beer: Homemade in their own microbrewery

  • Blanche: 1 of 6 - sligthly weird beer
  • Blonde: 3 of 6
  • Rousse: 3 of 6 - a bit like British bitter
  • Brune: 4 of 6

    Atmosphere: 4 of 6 - usually crowded
    Beer:
    Wittekop (B, white): 4 of 6 - very refreshing

  • "Panaché" (mix of blond beer and lemonade): 1 of 6
  • "Monaco" (mix of blond beer and grenadine): sounds too scary

    Food: 5 of 6 - excellent cheese salads (incl. baked potato in winter) Wine: They have a very nice Spanish red wine

    Food: Italian & Swiss - excellent cheese fondue (moitié-moitié)

    Atmosphere: 4 of 6
    Excellent pancakes. Dry cider is the appropriate drink with it.

    Erdinger blanche/brune: 1 of 6; good if you don't like beer
    Eichhof (blond, Luzern): 4 of 6 Nice German-style pilsner

    The cafeteria "Le Parmentier" has reasonable dinner from 6pm. Three course meal for SF 8.50.
