The gritty photo above looks out on a very different Buras than we see today.

This was taken in a house I love dearly.

Many years ago, when my kids were young, we moved into a house in the middle of Buras.

The old Buras Homestead.

A house I loved from the first moment we moved in.

A house full of much fun and fond memories for our entire family and many of our friends!

Well, of course, along comes Katrina and it not only destroyed our home that we were living in.

It significantly damaged the home we USED to live in.

This house had watermarks left from Camille.

We knew she had so valiantly survived for so long.

But it looked like she was down for the count!

This made us all very, very sad.

The house has sat dilapidated, dejected and empty since 2005.

UNTIL LATELY!!!! Someone has taken the monumental task of fixing her up, so VERY nice! Kudos to whoever you are...I am a fan...and I LOVE THAT COLOR!

Now it will once again be a place where happy memories can be created!
