Inhabitants

Rainforests are homes to millions upon millions of species of plants and animals. If you walked into a rainforests and dug around in the soil for about 15 minutes, you could most likely discover a new species of insect and name it after yourself. Scientists used to think that most of the new species were small insects living deep in the rich fertile soil of rainforests. Exploers along with sciecntists have discovered that there are still species waiting to be discovered in the canopies of rainforests around the world. A rainforest canopy is the very top part, kind of like a layer of leaves and branches. This is where monkeys and birds live.
