Moved with parents to Adams county, Ind. At age 10 years. United in marriage to Ruth BOWEN on Nov. 29, 1860. Had five children, two preceding him in death. Mr. and Mrs. ROOP resided in Mercer county, Ohio for 11 years when, in 1883, he came with his family to Kosciusko county, Indiana. Survivors: wife, son - John ROOP, near Milford; two daughters - Mrs. James DEWART and Mrs. Ernest MATHEWS, both of Syracuse. Funeral services were held at Concord church. Interment in Salem cemetery. C.E. WILCOX was undertaker.

Graduated from Ohio Medical College, Cincinnati. Served in the 164th Regiment O.V.I. as an assistant surgeon. Practiced medicine in Republic, Seneca county after war. Located in Willshire in January of 1865. Married twice - (first wife not named) children of first marriage still living - Webster, of Elwood, Indiana, and Mrs. Kate BROCK, of Quay, Oklahoma. Married 2nd Miss Jane ROOP of Van Wert county. Children still living - Mrs. Anna HANCHER of Huntington, Indiana; Mrs. Bessie BASTIAN of Delta, Ohio; Mrs. Ruth KELLER of Decatur, Indiana; William, Paul, Lucy, Esther and Semia, who reside at the old home with their mother. Funeral services were held Monday in the Baptist church.

P1, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel B. ROOP, of Pleasant Mills, received word of the tragic death of their grandson, Joseph CORDUA, age 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. William CORDUA of Hammond, formerly of Decatur. Mr. CORDUA was killed Sunday when a Canadian flyer train on the Grand Trunk RR struck the automobile in which he and two other companions, Marion C. SETTY and Rudolph MILLER, were riding. Mr. SETTY was also killed. The accident occurred near South Holland, Illinois. The deceased was born in Decatur.

P4, Mrs. Anna ROOP, aged 72, wife of Daniel B. ROOP of Pleasant Mills, died at her home in that town Tuesday, death from Addison's disease. Survivors: husband, two sons, three daughters, a sister, a half brother.

P1, Andrew J. MILLER, living between Willshire and Pleasant Mills, and Mrs. Martha SCOTT-HARTZOG were married during the past week, in the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin ROOP. Bride is the mother of Mrs. ROOP. The couple will make their home on the MILLER homestead two miles west of town.

Married to James M. ROOP at Willshire on Dec. 22, 1881; had five sons and five daughters; two children preceded her in death - Mrs. Benj P. WARMAN of Carwood, Ind. and Mrs. Howard GIBERSON of Lima, Ohio. Survivors: husband, children - Rev. Carl Vernon ROOP of Findlay, Ohio; Clarence M. ROOP of Missoula, Montana; Mrs. Wm NOLL of Decatur, Ind; Garth D. ROOP of Galion, Ohio; Mrs. James HOCTER, Mrs. Edward DURIEZ, Cloyce H. ROOP and Floyd M. ROOP, all of Barberton, Ohio; brother - Frederick PRICE of Kalida, Ohio; sister - Mrs. Aaron PRITCHARD of Kalida, Ohio. Funeral was held Sunday from L.U.B. church at Wren. Interment Woodlawn (sic - Woodland) cemetery at Van Wert.
P1, 14th annual ROOP family reunion was held in Bellmont Park at Decatur, Ind. on Sept. 5th. Officers elected: Pres - Carl Vernon ROOP; V. Pres - Andrew ROOP; Secretary/treasurer - Mrs. George H. DELLINGER.

P3, Daniel TROUTNER, 80, resident of Adams county for last 60 years, died of apoplexy Wednesday of last week at the Adams county infirmary. He was the son of Joseph and Sarah WEIMER TROUTNER, and was born in Ohio on March 16, 1847. Married three times. Survivors: one brother - Dave TROUTNER of Garrett, three nephews - Frank and Greel TROUTNER of Adams county and Dick ROOP of Decatur. Funeral was held Friday. Burial in Willshire cemetery.
