Not sure yet if it's a boy or girl, but anything healthy is hoped for. We can't wait
for our wonderful Christmas present.
I had my first
doctor appt on
May 14th and they did the normal physical.
We got to hear the heartbeat on June 11th!!
At first the nurse had to do some searching
because "Dream" (what I've chosen to call our lil' one) was
doing some hiding. Then her doppler died out. So it took a few minutes with a new
one and that little heart was just a pumping away!! I'm so excited!!
July 9th- I'm back from the doctor. They checked the heartbeat and since the car accident in June, I had been very worried, but it was beating loud and clear. Such a wonderful sound. Then I had to drink this generic orange soda to take my diabetes test and watch a movie for an hour to wait for the soda to kick in. They drew a few tubes of blood as I was also doing the triple screen for any abnormalities such as Down's Syndrome. My doctor informed me that I was losing too much weight and advised me to try to eat 6 small meals a day. I can barely eat one! So she scheduled my ultrasound for July 18th and hopefully we'll get to see if we're having a boy or girl. Wish us luck!!
July 18th- I had my ultrasound appt. I woke up early that morning and started drinking my water
before the appt. I didn't know I would have to wait almost 2 hours after my appt to go to the bathroom!
As soon as the tech put the wand on my stomach, we saw a huge head. The baby was moving all over the place and
the tech was taking many pictures and measurements ("click to see"). She said the baby looks fine and healthy and the heartbeat
seemed low to me at 130, but she said it was in the normal range. Our little one suprised us by keeping his/her
legs shut tight! So for everyone (including us) waiting to here WEHADABABYITZA ____, keep waiting!
August 6th- My blood pressure was a little high. My doctor want me to find a pediatrician and take a tour of the hospital so I've got to set that up. I'm nervous because she wont be there at delivery. It'll be someone new that I've never met. That's what you get for having cheap insurance!
August 20th- Yes, I'm still seeing the doctor every two weeks, just the normal check up and to see if I've gained any weight. Still in the negative. My sister surprised me with a babybeat so I can hear my little one's heartbeat whenever I want to. She also bought me a few outfits,
I can breathe again!! Thanks Nesha!! We let the boys hear the heartbeat. They all want a little girl. Even Phil's son wants a little sister. We'll see what we can do. Maybe at my next appointment I can schedule an ultrasound...aside from take another glucose test.
October 4th - Normal visit. I've gained 3lbs. I'm stricken with the flu so I don't feel so good. I'm measuring big, surprise and Dr. Meme has decided to give us another ultrasound. She has prescribed iron pills for my anemia (happy joy joy, another pill I can forget to take) This little one is playing a basketball game in there. I'm feeling good, although very tired. Phil is wonderful! He does the cooking (only so he can make sure I eat) and has become my little "beck-and-call" boy. He even asked if I wanted a bell. We have moved into our new apartment. I'm halfway done with the baby blanket I'm crocheting. I think we are getting really excited. Only a few more weeks to go. 8 to be exact!!
October 13th - My baby shower! What fun. It was held at Nesha's house hosted by her, molly and my mother. We played games, laughed and even cried. With all the pregnant women in the house, it was an emotion filled party. My baby will be sunshine in the wintertime with all the green and yellow clothing we were given.
My cake was beautiful (thanks Molly) and I've been making myself sick finishing it the last couple of days. Everyone was great and made me feel really special on this day. I want to thank everyone who attended for making it special for me. No one ever forgets their first.
October 18th - I didn't have to drink too much water for this ultrasound. Thank goodness. The tech talked a lot, but not about the baby. Mostly about her kids. The screen was kind of fuzzy, but we got to see our little one. He/She is measuring almost 5lbs. She thinks my due date of December 14th is off and that I will deliver closer to Thanksgiving. Hopefully not on, I'm in the mood for some good food! The baby is moving a lot. It feels as if he/she is doing flips down there. I can now look down and see my stomach going with the movement. I am getting to the antsy stage where I just want my baby out so I can see and hold him/her. We're still in the process of getting the room all settled. Right now I'm crib shopping and that's tough. I want the perfect crib. Aside from that, I'm still working although more sitting and doing nothing than working, but hopefully next month will be my last for a while.
My next appointment is November 2nd. I'll update thereafter.
Well, I had ultrasounds on November 2nd, 3rd and I did make it to my December 3rd ultrasound. The doctor let me know that my fluid was low and sent me to labor and delivery. It was time to have the baby. Click HERE for the birth story
Don't forget to take my other poll at ExpectNet type in "liljackson"
Forgot to tell ya,
if it's a girl, she's
already named...not telling!!
Check back as this page will be updated
