This is an invitation to
(who's) Handfasting. A Handfasting is a Pagan commitment ceremony,
that spiritually joins two people for as long as they live in love
together. This is a union that does not end once a death occurs, this is
a union that lasts through eternity. We choose (when),(and why).
We request that each guest bring a flower to place on the ground, forming
circle around the wedding party. This flower is a flower of your choice,
and may be bought at a shop, or picked from a garden, or along a road side. Where ever you choose a flower is up to you, the important part is that each guest take the time to choose the flower. The circle, is a material reminder of the sacred place in which the ceremony will be held. In most pagan rituals, such a circle would be a physical as well as a spiritual wall to keep in the energy raised during the ritual. In our case, we can not make a circle large enough for each and every guest to stand inside of. So, in order to have a circle and include the guests, we are having an open circle, which allows energy to flow freely in and out of the circle of flowers that we have all created. This free flowing energy also would include any negative energy, which is why we request each guest attend our ceremony with only good and positive attitudes towards all. Such as attitude creates good and positive energy which is needed to
make this ceremony a success. Included is a brief script of what
will happen during the ceremony, so you will know what to
expect. The ceremony will begin around(when).

that can make such an event as our Handfasting, possible.

HANDFASTING SCRIPT
(Write directions to the place and any additional information.)
1 Each guest will arrive, and music will be played by(whoever), and other friends or ours. Each guest is requested to place the flower they have brought along the circle which will be drawn into the earth, and will given a small bottle of bubbles. Once the song (your song), originally done by (whoever), begins, the guests are to gather south of the circle, facing the north. At the end of the song, a drumming will signal (preistess) and the four representatives of the four directions to enter into the circle.
2 (preistess) will give a welcome speech, and then begin the ceremony by lighting two candles on the candelabra.
3 From here (preistess) will call upon the four directions by walking around the circle four separate times, one time for each direction. When she is finished, she will return to her alter in the center of the circle, and (you) will enter the circle holding hands.
4 (preistess) will give her opening statements, each of the representatives of each of the directions will give their opening statements, then (preistess) will finish up.
5 Next we will light the union candle, then walk to each of the representatives for our blessings and gifts.
6 Then the annointment of Rose oil to each (of you), and then (preistess) and the representatives will give the blessing of the rings. After the blessing, (preistess) will consecrate the rings and (you) say their vows.
7 Nearing the end, (preistess) gives her final speech and performs the tying of the knots, which are two cords tied around the wrists of the couple, binding them for eternity. When the cords are removed, (you) kiss. Now, the drumming will begin, signaling everyone to blow their bubbles as the two leave the circle, followed by (preistess) and the four representatives. For the remainder of the day, we will visit, feast, wine and play music.
