Western Performance Association (WPA)

Unfortunately, there are some rules for the WPA but not many. If you have any questions concerning this please contact us.

1. Horses/riders do not need to be registered to enter the shows.
2. Horses cannot enter cutting, reining, or working cow horse classes until they are three (3).
3. Two year olds can not show until July of the show season and if requested special two-year old classes will be added.
4. There are not any dues to be paid at any time. The association is run off of donations and entry fees received from hosting shows.
5. Stallions cannot be ridden by anyone younger than 18 and can not show in Youth classes.
6. If there are Junior/Senior classes then Junior horses are under the age of 5 and Senior horses are over 6.
7. Two-year olds can not show until July of the show season. 8. The following are the classifications of classes:
-Open-Open to any horse/rider combination.
-Professional-Only professionals are allowed to enter (i.e. trainers; anyone who receives compensation for training, showing, judging a show.)
-Amateur-A rider who does not train, show, or judge for compensation; must be 18 or older.
-Youth-Riders are less than 19 years of age as of January 1st of the season.
