R. Stevie joined up with Billy A and the Coming Attraction, a fine local & touring lounge band, in May 1976. He would become the group's 'utility' player, adding 2nd keyboards, 2nd guitar, 2nd drums, extra vocals, etc. He began with gigs in Nashville clubs, then travelled with them to Georgia, their name then changing to Billy Angel and the Careless Lovers, but the main 'residency' that the band procured was that summer at the Ramada Inn on Versailles Road in Frankfort KY. They became THE SWINGS. Long multi-week bookings solidified the act's tight musical performance and oldie-newie Top 40 variety. "The Nationwide is on its side!" |
