Hello everyone,

Just got on here to update after a long time. I have sold all my goats for the time being. I would like to get back into it when I have more time to devot to it. Right now I am working long hours. It is a time in my life that I am very Happy. I have met the girl of my dreams and we are to marry on July the 18th, 2011. My life has always been a struggle till now and things are finally working out for me. I hope to get back into farming soon. I do enjoy it.

Cold
Today seems to be the coldest day we have seen so far this year. It was 4 degrees this morning, with a wind chill well below zero. This type of weather has to be hard on the animals. I will be feeding extra grain and hay today.

Drought
We've had some extremly dry weather in the last month. Pastures are getting bare. We will most likely have to start feeding hay early this year and I look for hay prices to go through the roof again this year. Feed prices are already shooting up and hay never really went down from last years drought. We did manage to purchase some hay on the first cut at a reasonalbe price. Farming is getting expensive.

Here is another one;
