Champion Sacrifices AllThe reigning Silver Paddle champion, "The Great Northern Light" Chad Enlgish, has recently been enduring the most intense training of his life. He recently ran into trouble with the local authorites after an ordeal with his former girlfriend. He was sentenced to house arrest leaving him plenty of free time. Since his sentence he has used his free time to train harder than anyone else has in the league in years. His weight training has helped him gain five pounds resulting in one of the most powerful slams in the league today. He spends hours in his parents' abandoned attic with nothing wooden paddle and a slab of old plywood. He props the plywood against one of the walls with two saw horses and plays some of the most intense one player ping pong seen this side of when Joel Henson was in his prime.Golden Paddle Situation"Heartstrong" Jacob Henson has held the Golden Paddle since July of 2002. He has only lost two matches since December of 2001. However, his win at February Fever 2003 is highly controversial. The rule for rotation matches states that there is absolutely no slamming allowed. Jake eliminated four players in the match at February Fever, all by slamming. The PCS has retaliated with the announcing Jacob's punishment. At Peace in the Volley 2003 he must defend the Golden Paddle in an Elimination Challenge. He must defend against the winner of the Biggest Bull in the Pen tournament, Tornado Thompson, Joel Henson, and eight players in a rotation match. If he loses any of the matches the paddle becomes vacant, and he will be suspended from any Golden Paddle rematch for six months. "Heartstrong" may have a heartache when Peace in the Volley rolls around this year. To check out the official Peace in the Volley website click HERE.
