EVP- stands for "electronic voice phenomena". These are what people try to capture on voice recorders. When you get speech on a recording that you cannot explain or account for (ie- you have a group of 3 girls, and you hear a man's voice when there was never a man around the girls), you have an EVP. This is a recording of a spirit talking or making noise (sometimes laughter, sometimes singing, sometimes just making a noise). They are often hard to understand, and usually come across as a whisper. However, you do have exceptions now and again.
ORB- an orb is a spirit. It shows up in photos as a circle, sometimes glowing, sometimes not. It has a "nucleus" in its center, and usually has a blue/green tinge to it. It will also usually have rings inside of the circle.
APPARITION- is when you see a "human" looking ghost. These will look more like a human than any other type of spirit. They will usually appear dressed, and you can see their facial features. For a minute, many people think they are looking at another person before they realize that this "person" is faint, and somewhat see-thru. Then, they usually will just disappear.
POLTERGEIST- literally means "noisy ghost." Some theories say that poltergeists are really telekenetic powers from girls who are first starting their periods. They say it is the flucuation of hormones that brings about the "poltergeist." Others say a poltergeist is a ghost who moves things, and sometimes tends to be violent in nature.
SHADOWMEN- a shadow that is the shape of a human. Most usually, these are reported to have red eyes. Sometimes, you may see one head-on, but mostly, you will catch a glimpse of them out of the corner of your eye. Some people think these are demonic in nature, some don't. I don't know of any physically hurting anyone, but I do know of them trapping people within a room and not letting them leave.
EMF DETECTOR- means "electro-magnetic field detector." This is used to find disruptions in the magnetic fields. It is thought that spirits disrupt the fields, and when a disruption is detected, you are more likely to get paranormal evidence (ie- photos, videos, evps).
INVESTIGATING- is when you go in to a known haunted area to see if you can get some kind of evidence (ie- photos, videos, evps).
HUNTING- is when you go to a place that is not known to be haunted, and you look for evidence of the paranormal.
RESIDUAL HAUNTING- is when a haunting plays over and over like a recording. These spirits do not interact with the living, they seem to never notice a person. One paticular scene will usually play repetedly at certain times.
