More About Interphase

Remember, mitosis is the division of the nucleus.  The nucleus contains DNA.  Cells must make a copy of their DNA before mitosis can occur, so each new nucleus will get a complete copy of the organisms DNA.  The complete copying of a cell’s DNA is called replication.

Also during interphase cell growth and protein synthesis occur.
