Retika Calendar Converter

The planet Retia, by chance, has a year that is exactly the length of two Earth years.  However, there are approximately 312.2333 days per year.  This means that the calendar has leap years every five years and a doubled leap year every thirty years.

All Retiku use the same calendar, which is the one presented here.  The year 0 is the year of the founding of the Dachuniru League, the first lasting political association.  The Retika Empire can trace its history directly back to the Dachuniru League.  Thus, if a date needs to be qualified, it is either KDN (Kinu Dachuniru-gasiapa Niritu, after the founding of the Dachuniru League) or TDN (Tilu Dachuniru-gasiapa Niritu, before the founding of the Dachuniru League).  For very special purposes other epochs may be used, but this system is far and away the most common.

Month names, however, differ from province to province and language to language.  This converter lists names in Gasiki and Ziotaki  There is a table below listing the months in order and their equivalents.

The Retian week has six days. In Ziotaki, they are called Pinano, Ziano, Ronino, Ziauno, Sinino, and Liano. Kiaretiniruans traditionally have one day off per week, but there is no fixed day of rest.

Gregorian Date (DD/MM/YYYY):

For example, 14 April 312 gives 9 Kiagira 2436. Because of the algorithms, dates before 20 March -4560 (4561 BC) / 1 Kiagira 0 may be in error.
Dates very far in the future may be in error because of mathematical limitations.
Also, the day of the week given for dates before 1 Kiagira 0 is wrong.

The date is read in Ziotaki as Kidani (or Tidani) day- month year yano weekday.
For example, 9 Kiagira 2436 Ronino is pronounced Kidani pelyoroyə Kiagira mahai sifua selai mapelia yano Ronino.
