A Day in the Life

5 am:
Time to wake up and eat!  Actually, I tried to get Mommy up at 3:30, but she told me to go back to bed (darn!).  But it's really 5 now, so I go out into the back yard to go potty.  Mommy fixes my breakfast, and carries it back to our bedroom.  She puts on some soothing music, and takes a shower while I eat.  Then I go back to bed and nap a bit while she gets ready for work.  I don't like to hurt Mommy's feelings, but...I prefer to go into another room when she practices her violin!

6:30 - 7 am:
If the weather is nice, I get to go outside and root around the back yard for raisins or Cheerios, graze, exercise, and take one more potty break before Mommy goes to work.  If it's too cold or raining, she puts my treats in my indoor rooting box instead (but she still insists I "try" to go outside one more time just before she leaves!).  Sometimes I get a REAL treat, and Mommy gives me a peanut butter Velvet Bimple!!  I can gnaw on it for hours, and it's yummy!

7 am - 2:45 pm:
While Mommy is at work and my sisters are at school, I get the run of the house (except the bedrooms and bathrooms).  There are plenty of blankets left out for me on the kitchen floor, in my rooting box, and on the futon.  After I finish my treats, I play with Middie the poodle, look for more treats, play in my rooting box, look for more treats, take a nap or two cuddled in my blankets, and look for more treats.  Mommy leaves the radio on for me, tuned to our favorite classical music station.  If I can't wait until my afternoon potty, there are plenty of "piddle pads" put out for me to use.

2:45 pm:
Sister Rachael is home from school!  That means I get love, attention, another potty break...and LUNCH!!  I get pellets for lunch, so she might scatter them out in the yard, weather permitting, or in my rooting box after I come in from my potty break.  Then sister Elsa comes home, and I get even more attention. :-)

4:30 pm:
Mommy comes home and fusses over me.  She checks that I've been fed and had a potty break, and takes me out for another if I want to.  She also cleans up any piddle pads that I've used.  For the rest of the afternoon, we might take a walk down the street, or do belly rubs (this is when Mommy cleans my ears and trims my hooves), practice tricks for my training class, or just go outside and play in the yard.  Sometimes I keep my sisters company while they watch TV, or I might watch Mommy while she belly dances.  For a real treat, we might get in the car and drive to Petsmart--the people there are so nice and always give me snacks!

8:30 pm:
Suppertime!

Anywhere from 9 -- 11 pm:
Time for my bedtime potty, then off to bed.  I sleep with Mommy, and she always gives me a bedtime snack and a bowl of water, and fixes a piddle pad "just in case."  She closes the door, so I can't get into Middie's food (I just can't resist dog food, even though it's bad for me).  Then she lights some incense and puts on some relaxing music--world lullabies or classical music, or harp music if she's going to do Reiki before she goes to sleep.  I crawl under the covers, root around a bit, let Mommy rub my belly, and finally settle down at her feet.
