Educational Links

Aardvark Books and Activities Listings for children's books, science kits, and other educational activities.

Bonus Huge site with something like 600 activities for kids, including brain teasers and educational games. It even has a Java version of my kids' favorite card game, Mille Borne.

Children's Resource Center Got kids? Look at this, then...cool recommended reading and other resources to raise a happy, healthy child.

Cyber Seas Treasure Hunt Cute online games for young children.

Foreign Languages for Travelers REALLY COOL! Teach yourself a foreign language...this site has a lot to choose from, and links for further study.

Funschool A good selection of educational games for preschool through second grade. It kept my 7-year-old busy for an hour!

GusTown Great site with games, a library, a theater, and other cool stuff for kids 3 to 7.

The Headbone Zone Cool AND educational online games for older elementary children. If you're gonna visit, be sure you have Shockwave first, you'll need it!

Kids' World OK, so this site is here mainly to sell you educational CD-ROMs, but it also has some cute educational games (Howie activities) and some great ideas for Science Fair projects for the younger set (Virgil activities).

The Learning Kingdom A few educational games, cool science facts, etc. For older elementary grades.

MAD Scientist Network This is SO COOL!!! This site has experiments, the Visible Human, Ask-A-Scientist (don't ask me unless it's a veterinary question, OK?)...and that's just the beginning!!

National Geographic Online Cool site...learn more about your world with these great articles, plus links to NG Magazine, Traveler Magazine, and World Magazine for Kids.

The Natural History of Genes This site has some cool Science Fair project ideas (for high school age).

Nye Labs Check this out if you're a BNSG fan...this site is NOT for kids only! My goal in life is to be a Way Cool Scientist (yes, I'm serious!!)

OH! Kids This is a great starting point for kids to find age-appropriate activities and websites. Educational games and links...

PBS Kids Do you know what your kids are watching on TV? Mine love PBS (check out their main site, listed under TV and Radio), and it's better than all that other *bad word* they watch. They also love this site, which has info on the PBS shows and some cool games and activities.

Science Learning Network Very, very cool...tons of exhibits designed by the museums that participate in the SLN, and lots of great educational online activities for the kids (and you)!

The Station@Sony I debated putting this here...it DOES have educational Shockwave games, but it also constantly asks you to "register" (with real name)--NOT something I'd let my kids do (even though it is free). You can still play the games, if you don't mind some long loading times.

The Yuckiest Site on the Internet Gross science stuff to appeal to the younger crowd. My 6-year-old loved the video of a worm hatching!
