Rogue.
The main advantages of a Rogue are their tracking ability and their evasion skill. Their primary attribute is Agility, which can be handy if you choose a less agile race. Adept with a dagger, hook or sword, and trained in backstabbing and other useful skills, rogues are the archetypal thief class of the realm.
Bard.
The only class that has the skill "music", Bard has a cacophony of songs at their disposal, ranging from slow through to the simple song of light. Still having most thieving skills like backstab, sneak and dagger but with the added advantage of many valuable spells, they are a great addition to any character. Their primary attribute is Luck, which while not as important as agility when it comes to combat, affects a wide range of events in the world and so handy to have.
Wizard.
The Wizard class has the largest range of spells of all classes. With numerous travel spells, such as nexus, wizard eye and blink, and great combat spells such as silence, slow and dispel magic, it is a versatile class. With a primary attribute of Knowledge, they are the standard mage class of Materia Magica.
Monk.
Monks are one of the two combat magic users. They specialize in both herbalism and martial arts. With a diverse range of spells at their disposal alongside these two fairly unique skills, they can make a powerful choice. With the same primary attribute as wizards of Knowledge, they also have access to healing herbs and spells which gives them an advantage over both psionics and wizards.
Rangers.
The second of the two combat magic users, Rangers have the advantage of a few thief type skills such as tracking. They also have access to herbalism which gives them great diversity as a class choice. In tune with the world around them, most of their spells and skills deal with nature, or more earthy magic. Their primary attribute is Agility, which can aid immensely in combat.
Psionic.
Psionics are the magic users who focus their magic on how the mind works, rather than using tools. They have two main advantages, silent casting and not needing to use spell books or scrolls. As most of the spells also do not need reagents, this can be a powerful combination when mixed with other classes. With a primary attribute of Sanity, they have a decided advantage when casting spells.
Priest.
Focusing on the healing of the body and the soul, the Priest class has the largest number of healing spells available. As they closely align with the powers of the realm, they have the ability to call down on them for both protection and healing. One of their main advantages is the fact that they can use the spell "word of recall" to return to the entrance to many zones and areas. Their primary attribute is Wisdom.
Druid.
Druids practice the art of invocations and evocations. Their power stems from the world around them, and they can call on the different elements to both defend and attack. Equipped with healing spells and the ability to protect themselves from certain types of attacks, combined with other classes, they can be powerful. Their primary attribute is Knowledge.
Shaman.
Shaman is the most aggressive of the three cleric classes, with a good variety of spells that range from healing to defense to combat. With many weapon skills, from whips to yo-yos, they can hold their own in combat, while being a valuable member of a form. Their primary attribute is Wisdom.
Barbarian.
The masters of combat, Barbarians are the most vicious of the four warrior classes. The only class capable of wielding an axe, which is one of the highest damage weapons in the land, they make a tough opponent. Their main attribute is Strength, which not only affects the damage that their weapons will do, it also has the added advantage of helping a barbarian carry around his heavy axes.
Valkryies.
The warrior women of Alyria, Valkryies are the only female-only class of Materia Magica. Their main advantage, alongside a range of combat skills, is the unique skill of second defense. This allows the Valkyrie to defend themselves against two attacks instead of the standard one in the same round of combat. Their primary attribute is Courage.
Paladins.
Paladins are the only fighter class that has the added advantage of several healing and protection spells, including cure blind. They also have the knowledge of a range of weapons, which makes them a worthy blessed warrior. Their primary attribute is Courage.
Cavaliers.
Cavaliers are the mounted warriors of Alyria. The skill of riding, combined with their unique weapon, the lance, make them a dangerous enemy to have. They are also the only male-only class of the realm, a counter to the Valkyrie. Their primary attribute is Vitality.
