Skateboarding
Welcome to the Skateboarding page. Skateboarding is by far the hardest of all the board sports. There are so many tricks that can be done in this sport it is hard to keep track. Skateboarding is like snowboarding, and surfing the only big difference is that you are on a board that is about two times smaller.

In order to do any tricks in skateboarding you have to be able to learn how to ally. The picture to the left shows a prime example of what an ally looks like. If you learn how to ally there is no limit in what you can do.

The first type of skateboards were actually more like scooters. These contraptions, which date back to the early 1900's featured roller skate wheels attached to a two by four. Often the wood had a milk crate nailed to it with handles sticking out for control. By the time the 1960's rolled around, skateboarding had gained an impressive following amongst the surf crowd. The first skateboard contest was held at the Pier Avenue Junior School in Hermosa, California in 1963.

After you are able to ally, you can try to grind rails. Just like in snowboarding grind rails has the same concept in skateboarding only it's 10 time harder!!!
