Bo Basics

Here, the "striks" or striking systems refers to the method or technique of hitting a target, perhaps by hand and arm position. While "Aspects" are perhaps the methods of moving along the paths to the targets that the techniques can take. Most striks can be done useing most aspects. Blocking systems are means of useing the staff for either blocking, redirecting or otherwise avoiding an opponent's attack. Terminology varies from school, style & instructor, such as "Opposite" is also called "Reverse" but are the same thing, (Gyaku). Listed here is by the terminology used in our Dojo. This section alone represents the result of "over 30 years" of study, research and intense training of staff martial arts. (Still under construction; eventually each basic to be linked to a description page of that respective basic).
