Julie has been in many bands as a backing singer and later on as a lead vocalist. Julie started her showbiz career as a dancer incorporating African, Jazz & Street styles. Acting followed closely under the direction of Malcolm Fredericks and Jimi Rand whilst with the lack Theatre co-op, Randi McWilliams of Upstage Theatre Co. & Loftus Burton of Camelot Theatre Group. She had a great time touring America with a show called Black Heroes in Hall of Fame. It was here that she met 4 other women with whom she then formed a girl group called Just Good Friends. Just Good Friends went on to support many acts such as Keith Sweat, Brandy, H-Town, Silk and they also worked with Neil Sekada. Their biggest break was with top British soul group Soul II Soul who played to audiences all over the world.

Julie joined the European Blues Brothers tour for the first time, and also was a stand-in Bluette for the 2001 West End run at the Whitehall Theatre.
