Joe was born in Liverpool and he started performing in bands whilst still at school. He went on to sing with the a capella group Natural High (who later became The Christians) and American soul band, Chairman of the Board.
His numerous theatre credits include Bouncers, Hansel and Gretel, Nude With Violin, The Revenger's Tragedy, Bare, Twelfth Night, Of Mice And Men, Martin Chuzzlewit, The Tokolosh, The Mystery Plays, Peter Pan, Toad of Toad Hall, Waiting for Godot, The Double and Man Friday. Joe has also performed in the international tour of The Official Tribute to The Blues Brothers and in a tour of Smokey Joe's Cafˇ for the Turnstyle Group.
On television he has appeared in Prime Suspect V, Cracker, Coronation Street, Children's Ward, Raffle Baby, Emmerdale, The Bill, Always and Everyone and That Peter Kay Thing.
Joe has also recorded September Song, The Last of the Mohicans and Anacondafor BBC Radio 4.
