This section features some local projects whose success depended on a job well done by the engineers behind it all.

The Natcher Bridge

The Natcher Bridge is an engineering highlight for the Green River section of Kentucky.  Spanning the Ohio River, it connects US 231 in Owensboro, KY with Indiana Route 66.  Construction of this cable stayed bridge took place during January 1998 - February 2002, and it was opened to traffic on October 21, 2002.

Fort Campbell Modularity Site

Pictured below is one of four sites being developed with modularity administrative facilities for the reorganization of and increase in troop strength at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.  Construction took place during the late summer/fall of 2004 at a cost of approximately $25 million.

Fort Campbell is home of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), the only air assault division in the world.  It is located on the Kentucky-Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY and Clarksville, TN.

Livermore Bridge

When this structure was built, a unique contribution to history was made.  It is claimed to be the only river bridge in the world which begins and ends in the same county (McLean), spans two rivers (Green and Rough), and crosses another county (Ohio), a small point of which lies between the rivers.  It is 1350 feet long.  Dedication of the bridge was held November 13, 1940.
