Rt. 1 will bring you to the Ohio river and historic Cave-In-Rock where pirates roamed the waterways.Crossing the river into Kentucky on one of only two river ferries in Illinois will bring you into Amish country with shops to explore. We are 4 miles from Rim Rock hiking area, and 11 miles from Garden of the Gods Recreational Area "by truck"which is the most visited area in the Shawnee. All these activities are worth the trip while your in the area.
