My name is Dana, and I am originally from Dallas, Texas. In early 2000, I was at my doctor's office, and I read an article in People Magazine about Carnie Wilson and her decision to battle her morbid obesity with gastric bypass surgery. At that moment, I knew that I wanted surgery, too. Little did I know the wonderful changes the next year would bring.
In November 2000, I had my surgery. My surgeon was Dr. David Provost, Dallas, Texas. I had a laparoscopic Roux-en-y, proximal.
At that time, I weighed 287 pounds, and I wore a size 28/30. Now, 20 months after surgery, I weigh 118 pounds, and I wear a size 4.
