I purchased Roma on August 5th, 2003. My barn's manager had been stuck with her since April of that year because her mother bought her at auction because "she was so cute!" Her mom bought her for 500 dollars and after learning how to load and be a decent trail horse her price was raised to $2k. I borrowed her to take on a pack trip but fell in Roma and I Y with her and purchased her on the spot without a vet check. I began lessoning on her and she began showing that october in the walk/trot division. [hah] 2 shows and a clinic later we entered the Abbe Ranch Horse Trials. Unfortunately we were DQed at the water but our stadium was LOVELY. A few weeks later we went to the Copper Penny Horse Show in Estes Park and ACTUALLY GOT A RIBBON! Above all though it was a great experience and Roma learned a lot from showing in hack classes with 20+ horses. A month later we went to the Penrose Horse Trials in Colorado Springs, CO. After dressage we were 16th out of 25 with a score of 40.5. After cross country we moved up to 10th, just barely in the ribbons. Overall we placed 10th with a score of 40.5, finishing double clear. Roma is currently showing 2'6 - 2'9 and will hopefully make the move to 3 foot soon!
