Johnson County scored 24 points in the second quarter on their way  to a 24-6 victory over Wayne County.  Johnson County’s defense was on their game today holding Wayne County to a 3.8 average per offensive play.  Johnson County recorded 14 first downs and 221 yards of total offense, all of it coming on their ground game which averaged 6.3 yards per carry.  They were penalized three times for 15 yards and lost three fumbles.  Wayne County recorded five first downs and 90 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 25 yards and lost two fumbles.

Blake Gamble led Johnson County’s ground game with 108 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.  Curtis Dorton carried the ball 12 times for 68 yards.  Tyrese Allen added 35 yards on five carries.  Steven Ground only attempted one pass and it was incomplete.  Blake Gamble led the defense with two solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Isaiah Amburgy added three solo tackles.  Steven Ground also recovered a fumble.

Jacob Wright led Wayne County’s ground game with 19 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  German Ruiz carried the ball seven times for 18 yards.  Lane Turner completed one of four passes for 28 yards.  Grant Shoemaker completed his only pass for 12 yards.  Grant Shoemaker caught one pass for 28 yards and Matthew Garner added a 12 yard reception.  German Ruiz led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Matthew Garner added two solo and three assisted tackles.  Clay Shelton, Jacob Wright, and Brett Massengale all recovered fumbles.
