This game originally could have been billed as the battle of the running backs, St. Xavier's "Deuce" Finch against Lexington Catholic's Shane Israel. However, Shane Israel was out with an injury but Finch ran for a St. Xavier record 323 yards in a 41-9 victory over Lexington Catholic. The Tiger defense held Lexington Catholic to 28 yards rushing on 23 attempts.
St. Xavier had 15 first downs and 444 yards of total offense. The Tigers were penalized nine times for 82 yards, lost three fumbles. Lexington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 262 yards of total offense. The Knights were penalized eight times for 52 yards and had three passes intercepted.
Deuce Finch led the St. Xavier ground game with 323 yards and TD runs of 85, 24, 65, and 30 yards on 16 carries. Ben Zoeller carried the ball three times for 39 yards and a TD. Zoeller completed five of eight passes for 40 yards. Aaron Bottner caught two passes for 16 yards. Connor Hale led the defense with nine solo tackles.
Greg Raglin led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 40 yards on 13 carries. Nic Ward completed 31 of 54 passes for 232 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Devon Williams caught 10 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Daniel Vogelsang added five receptions for 29 yards. Winston Gay recorded four catches for 67 yards. Nick Vicini led the defense with three solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Jake Conner and Winston Gay each recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.
