Lafayette (6-1) vs. Paul Dunbar (3-4)

Lafayette's Jake Stephens kicked a 32 yard field goal as time expired to defeat Dunbar 16-14.  Lafayette had to overcome five turnovers tonight to eke out the win.  Lafayette controlled the statistical battle but several drives were short-circuited by turnovers.

Lafayette recorded 18 first downs and 402 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized five times for 52 yards, and lost two fumbles, and had three passes intercepted.  Dunbar had four first downs and 162 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized eight times for 100 yards and didn't turn the ball over tonight. 

The Lafayette ground game was led by Darnell Burnside with 96 yards and a TD on 25 carries.  Logan Bunch completed 15 of 27 passes for 293 yards and a TD with three interceptions.  Tommy Gifford caught five passes for 175 yards and a TD.  Chris McAskill added four receptions for 59 yards.  Eric Shaw led the defense with four solo and four assisted tackles.  Matt Green added one solo and eight assisted tackles.

The Dunbar ground game was led by Cory Williams with 52 yards on 18 carries.  Marquis Clay carried the ball 11 times for 41 yards and one TD.  Clay completed three of seven passes for 76 yards and one TD.  Jerrell Greene caught two passes for 75 yards and one TD.  Robert Koteff led the defense with six solo and nine assisted tackles.  Steve Matthews added seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Qua. Singleton chipped in with three solo and six assisted tackles.  Nick Edelstein intercepted two passes and Steve Matthews recorded one interception.  Jason Nicholson punted seven times for a 45.6 yard average and all three of his kickoffs reached the end zone.
