Tates Creek (4-0) vs. Paul Dunbar (0-5) September 22 and 25, 2006

Tates Creek has been led on the ground this year by Ty Sparks, who has rolled up 716 yards in four games.  The defense has been led by Robert Knowles, Derrick Brown, and Eric Gwinn.

The Dunbar Bulldogs have gotten off to a slow start this year and have only scored four touchdowns this season.  RB Jerrell Greene returned last week after missing his first four weeks with an injury.  Nick Edelstein and Zack Warmouth have led the Bulldog defense.

Tates Creek rallied from a 14-0 deficit to nip Paul Dunbar 17-14 in overtime.  Tates Creek trailed 14-7 when the game was suspended due to lightning with 6:12 remaining in the third quarter.  The game was resumed at 7 p.m. on Monday night.  Ty Sparks scored on an 11 yard run and Brian Williams kicked the extra point with 3:26 remaining in the third quarter to tie the score at 14-14.  The score remained tied at the end of regulation.  Dunbar had the first opportunity in overtime but Jerrell Greene was stopped on a fourth-and-two from the two yard line.  Three plays later, Tates Creek won the game as Brian Williams kicked a 28 yard field goal.

Tates Creek recorded 12 first downs and 240 yards of total offense, all on the ground.  The Commodores lost four fumbles and were penalized three times for 28 yards.  Paul Dunbar had 14 first downs and 269 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs lost three fumbles and were penalized 10 times for 64 yards.

Ty Sparks led the Tates Creek ground game with 248 yards and two touchdowns on 37 carries.  Eric Gwinn led the Commodore defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Andre Reinhart and Patrick Dove added five solo and three assisted tackles each.

Jerrell Greene led Dunbar's ground game with 146 yards and a TD on 30 carries.  Colby Haney completed seven of 11 passes for 84 yards.  Greene caught four passes for 42 yards.  Nick Edelstein led the Bulldog defense with three solo and seven assisted tackles.  Zack Warmouth added two solo and eight assisted tackles, and Trey Haddix recorded four solo and four assisted tackles.
