Paul Dunbar (0-8) vs. Scott County (6-2) October 20, 2006

Paul Dunbar held a 7-6 advantage late in the game but Scott County scored two touchdowns in the last 3:19 of the game to earn a 19-7 victory.  The Dunbar defense frustrated Scott County for most of the game by "stacking the box" and shutting down the potent Scott County ground game.

Dunbar took a 7-0 lead on a one yard run by Steve Willis and a conversion kick by Jason Nicholson with 9:34 remaining in the third quarter.  The Cardinals finally got on track in the final period, scoring touchdowns on their last three possessions.  Their go-ahead TD came on a 98 yard drive that took eight plays and was capped by a 19 yard TD pass from Cody Andrews to Eric Sanders  The final TD came on a beautiful fake by Andrews, who kept the ball and raced 37 yards for an insurance touchdown.

Scott County had 11 first downs and 275 yards of total offense.  The The Cardinals were penalized six times for 73 yards.  Paul Dunbar recorded 10 first downs and 184 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs had a pass intercepted and were penalized five times for 30 yards. 

Cody Andrews led the Scott County ground game with 65 yards and a TD on seven carries.  Keith Smith carried the ball 16 times for 64 yards and a TD.  Andrews completed four of 13 passes for 125 yards with a TD.  Eric Sanders had a 19 yard scoring reception and William Mack caught one pass for 68 yards.  Sam Payne led the Cardinal defense with four solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Brandon Lawson added three solo and seven assisted tackles and Ike Wilson recorded one solo and 11 assisted tackles.

Steven Willis led the Dunbar ground game with 98 yards and a TD on 24 carries.  Trey Haddix carried the ball eight times for 63 yards.  Colby Haney completed four of 10 passes for 36 yards with an interception.  Nick Edelstein led the Bulldog defense with two solo and six assisted tackles.  Martaveous Mays added two solo and four assisted tackles.
