Coach Sam Simpson's Henry Clay Blue Devils have raced out of the starting gate with a 2-0 record and have a lot of weapons in their arsenal.  The Blue Devils have an abundance of team speed with several legitimate game breakers. 

Coach Dudley Hilton's Bell County Bobcats opened the season with a 24-20 victory over Whitley County and didn't play last week.  The Bobcats are led by QB Kyle Nelson, RB T. R. Christopher, and LB Brent Slusher.  The Bobcats are always a tough opponent, especially at Log Mountain.

Henry Clay overcame a 14-0 deficit late in the second quarter to defeat Bell County 28-14.  The versatile Chase Minnifield had a big game for Henry Clay with four touchdowns and a two point conversion.  Minnifield accounted for 26 points, rolled up 187 all purpose yards, punted four times for a 39.0 average, and recorded two solo and one assisted tackles.

Henry Clay recorded 14 first downs, 282 yards of total offense, and had one pass intercepted.  The Blue Devils were penalized seven times for 43 yards.  Bell County had 11 first downs and 146 yards of total offense.  Bell County fumbled the ball five times, losing possession twice, and had one pass intercepted.  The Bobcats were penalized five times for 29 yards.

Chase Minnifield led the Henry Clay ground game with 140 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries.  Dontey Gay carried the ball 12 times for 60 yards.  Ryan Phillippi completed nine of 13 passes for 66 yards with one touchdowns and one interception.  Clark Jeter caught four passes for 18 yards.  Chase Minnifield added two receptions for 36 yards and a TD.  Mark Caldwell led the defense with 10 solo tackles.  Dontey Gay added seven solo and two assisted tackles.

T. R. Christopher led the Bell County ground game with 75 yards and a touchdowns on 18 carries.  Spencer Greer carried the ball 16 times for 55 yards with a TD.  Greer also returned three punts for 106 yards and two kickoffs for 37 yards.  Kyle Nelson completed two of six passes for 16 yards with an interception.  Shawnta Zachery caught one pass for 19 yards.  Christian Mason led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles.  Tyler Harbin recorded six solo tackles.
