Scott County (5-3) vs. Paul L. Dunbar (6-2) October 21, 2005

Both teams are 3-1 in the district and Scott County has won four straight games after starting the season 1-3.  RB Jimmie Warren has led the Scott County ground attack with 933 yards and 16 touchdowns.  QB Cody Andrews has thrown for 865 yards and nine touchdowns.  6-3 Jr. Rodney Haddix has caught 24 passes for 547 yards and seven touchdowns.

Paul Dunbar's ground attack has been led by Will Wright with 915 yards and 11 touchdowns.  QB Chris Franklin has thrown for 1284 yards and 12 touchdowns.  Keith Bailey has 27 receptions for 563 yards with six touchdowns.

Paul Dunbar won an offensive slugfest tonight by a score of 40-35 over Scott County.  Scott County had one chance to win but their drive was stopped on the Paul Dunbar 22 on downs with 55 seconds remaining on the clock.  This was a game of big plays as Dunbar scored on plays of 55, 64, 35, and 75 yards while Scott County had scoring plays of 49 and 54 yards.

Scott County held a 508-405 advantage in total offense and enjoyed a 25-11 margin in first downs.  Scott County ran 83 plays for a 6.1 yard average while Dunbar ran 44 plays for a 9.2 yard per play average.  Dunbar did not turn the ball over but Scott County fumbled six times, losing only one.  Scott County was penalized five times for 75 yards while Dunbar was flagged twice for 31 yards.

Dunbar's ground game was led by Will Wright with 94 yards on 16 carries.  Jerrell Greene carried the ball three times for 58 yards with one touchdown.  Chris Franklin completed seven of 16 passes for 244 yards with a touchdown and Mike Sweat added three receptions for 113 yards with two scores.  Matt Metts led the Bulldog defense with six solo and 12 assisted tackles.  Mike Sweat added six solo and six assisted tackles, while Jerrell Greene chipped in with five solo and four assisted tackles.

Keith Smith led the Scott County ground game with 167 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.  Jimmie Warren added 115 yards on 21 carries.  Cody Andrews completed 12 of 22 passes for 231 yards with three touchdowns.  Rodney Haddix and Jimmie Warren each had four receptions for 82 yards with a touchdown.  Cody McIntosh added three receptions for 43 yards with a score.  Sam Payne led the Cardinal defense with nine assisted tackles.
