Outreach Christmas Project

The roads are often bumpy and the trips are often lengthy, but the sisters in the Appalachian Outreach Program (AOP) are used to traveling the back roads of eastern Kentucky. Through the vision of Sister Betty Shelton and through the support of Sister Michael Leo, the AOP was founded. The sisters offer support to recently discharged Saint Joseph patients in central and eastern Kentucky.

This year, over 10,000 contacts were made. The program celebrated its 15th anniversary in September.

Over the years, AOP has expanded tremendously and has filled a great need in the region. It has also begun a holiday tradition at St. Joseph.

Every year, the Appalachian Outreach Program makes Christmas a little brighter for families in need. The sisters visit with gifts for all of the members, generously donated by anonymous benefactors.

Congratulations Sister Rosalyn...on all you do to bring the light of Christ to others and into the homes of those in need.
