ken's blog

14/2/04 - Time for another update on Ken's life...at the end of his 3 month long holiday haha. I've thoroughly enjoyed these holidays, been doing a lot of things which have kept me busy and stopped me from just wasting them and bumming around. So what have I done?
These are all the major activities I did during these summer holidays. Three months have passed pretty quickly and I've had a really good time. I have a really busy week next week, getting ready for uni to start again. and then it's O week and then 1st week of Uni!!! And it will then be fully hectic with Med Revue until 10 weeks later. haha I'm crazy!

28/12/03 - *sigh-groan-whine* Studying is sooooooo boring! but I have to do it because of revue next year, jah..I've lost the heart for it hehe
Ohhh got an email from James Curran today, and it confirms that i'm going back to software camp (CCSS) next year as a tutor. I'm all excited again, it should be fun!
Also went to Mish's party last night, so nice to see all my med friends again like Nikki, Beck, Paula, Mel etc.
which brings me back to study.. *complaints-whimper-wah*

21/12/03 - I doubt anyone checks this site anymore but I'll blog anyway since I'm soooo bored. A lot of crazy stuff has happened since I last wrote something over 3 months ago. Major highlights included getting in Yellow Shirts, being a Med Revue producer for next year and those med exams. Also various people have come into my life or I've become closer with :) You know who you are hehe
Really long holidays coming up! filled with CCSS tutoring and yellow shirts and Med revue produccing. decided to study for 2nd year so as to not fall too behind next year. Was going well for a while before running out of motivation hehe argh well
angelfire has bombarded my site with too many ads for me to bother to update majorly which I always seem to do at this time every year. But I think I will just blog from now on
but yeah, I've had an awesome year, more ups than downs and i'm really glad about how it has all turned out :)

6/9/03 - I have 7 T shirts from Uni now. Med camp, Med Revue, Med Show, Running for Research, Guild Protest Day, CSE Revue and UNSW Expo day!!!! yay!!! Hopefully I can add yellow shirts and med camp 2004 to it

Only 1 week from Revue. Everything is going well. Really tiring, should get sleep talk to you guys later! Hope everyone is well

22/8/03 - About time I updated by Blog hey. Been REALLY busy with uni stuff recently. The whole of last week was taken up by CSE Revue rehearsal for the Intro Video which should look awesome! and Also uni work is piling up. However most of the stuff due is pretty fun! Like writing a biography on an interesting sick person I've been interviewing for a few weeks and I can't wait for the ICBS presentation, I get to make another video! Yay!!!! Expo day is also next week, Another T shirt!!! Woohoo haha

9/8/03 - Tomorrow's the big City2Surf race. hopefully I can get under 100 minutes and make the A group next year. Wish me luck! And I got another T shirt for doing this thing. This puts my count up to 4 now. By the end of the year, I'll hopefully have 7 shirts and 2 jumpers!
In other news, Med Show went well. It all came together on the night and everyone was great! Thanks to everyone who came to watch

2/8/03 - Seems like the fun from my holidays have continued into Uni! We had a Sydney High team in the uni sports day this year and the experience was awesome. We really showed the rest of the teams what High spirit was about, not only making the semi-finals in everything (tug-of-war, soccer, frisbee and touch football) but also in our cheering and loudness. It brought out the best of us and made us all pull off something we didn't have before. Not bad for a first year team?! We really showed that High Spirit was much more than just wearing our Year Jersey together on a set day

Also, MedShow is going on. There is a dress rehearsal next monday and the actual show is on Thursday. I'm stage manager and I get to wear the cool headset to communicate with tech managers who control lighting and sound. Haha

And last but not least, CSE Revue has begun casting, and I ended up getting the Liam Lynch role in "The University of Whatever" skit?? Do I look like Liam Lynch to you? hahaha I wonder what other roles I will land.
I guess my only guilt is that I'm perhaps not doing as much work and study as I should be

27/7/03 - Today is the last day of my mid session holidays! 3 and a half weeks go by so quickly!
As with most last-day-of-holidays times, one tends to look back and reflect on what they've done in the holidays. And for once in my life, I can honestly say I've perhaps had the most productive holidays EVER!
This is what I've done:

And that is pretty much all I can think of. But I was doing something practically everyday! You know you're really busy when you are fitting in more than 1 activity on one day in your diary :)
It was also nice to start off the holidays with my 18th Birthday and also nice having a car to drive around in too.
I've also done different things such as Lawn bowls and tech for MedShow which are MUCH MUCH more fun than I expected
These are probably the best holidays ever! I wish I had another week though, still so much I wanted to do. Like fix my violin and organise lessons next session, pick a Gen Ed for next session or Preview Anatomy and Biochemistry for next session.

23/7/03 - Played lawn bowls with revue people yesterday. It's more than meets in eye. It's a lot more FUN than you think and it takes a lot of skill. The most interesting thing is probably getting tips from the senior citizens there...karate kid style.

Had a quiet day today before thursday and friday when Med Show rehearsals will take up the remainder of my holidays.

21/7/03 - Had a nice quiet day at home today which was a nice change considering I was out for the WHOLE of last week. I went to Kareoke with Med people on Sunday and it was the funnest thing ever! haha singing pop and love songs
and I'm going to play lawn bowls tomorrow with Revue people. It's different I guess, but somehow I think I'm going to enjoy it. Surely I will have photos and videos haha

20/7/03 - I have now caught up with most people I've planned to catch up with these holidays! On Wednesday, I spent the arvo with Ben and Richard and on Saturday I caught up with all some of my CCSS buddies who I haven't seen in AGES! Emma came down from Newcastle and Stuart from Condo. Had quite a fun time actually bar hopping and chatting. Then we watched The Recruit and Just Married at the apartment. Bridget Moynahan is so sexy! Photos and videos are up now (of the CCSS get together that is, not of Bridget)
Bumped into Nikki when I in town on Friday as well! What a coincidence!
Plans for next week is probably to settle down and get back into the working habit eh?? haha Sorry that this blog is a mere recount of things, but I can't be bothered to make the effort today.

19/7/03 - Spent half an hour washing my car, and of course a few minutes after I finish, it has to rain. Maybe my luck will grow and a flock of birds will fly over my car?!

15/7/03 - I saw Charlie's Angels 2 with Shaun and Cheng. Have become completely in love with Cameron Diaz (more so than previously). I also caught up with Sachin after and played some pool and then went to Cheng's place and had a nice chat.
Finished Bridget Jones earlier today, which wasn't half that bad. Unfortunately have picked up her style of writing, dropping off personal pronouns, in fragmented fashion.
I'm seeing Richard and Ben tomorrow, and then volunteering for Kids Helpline again on Thursday! I really like how everything slots in well for holiday plans. hehe

14/7/03 - I attended a VERY interesting public lecture tonight at UNSW given by Nobel Prize Winner Prof Daniel Kahnemann. He talked about psychology and cognitive science and lots of cool stuff. He mainly focused on what made our memories happy/painful etc and how our happiness changes when certain events occur (e.g marriage, divorce) and how quickly we adapt to them so they aren't a new concept anymore. It was all very well presented without any jargon. I had a great time
Came home and watched the end of the Hitler series, and read some Bridget Jones. Holidays are going well, doing heaps of stuff to keep my mind off other stuff :)

13/7/03 - Woke up to face the mirror and I'm shocked to see the roundness of my chin. It looks like I've had reverse liposuction. Just killing time before CSE Revue meeting this afternoon. Mah hope I kill time faster than this pain in my jaw kills me! I have quite a while to wait before ingesting next Panadine Forte
On the plus side, I've planned and organised the 2 weeks of holidays I have left. Hope it all works out efficiently. And Mum's been talking about going to China at the end of the year. Hurrah!

11/7/03 - Owwwwwwww. Just came back from hospital missing 4 teeth. The operation went well I guess. They gave me a really strong anaesthetic and I was out like a flash. They told me to count backwards from 10 and I remember getting to 7 and feeling it creep up my arm. The next thing I knew I was lying in a bed and it was all over. Mind you I probably didn't need any anaethetic considering I had to get up heaps early this morning to go to the surgery. When I woke up dazed, I felt like I'd been beaten up in a fight the night before. And I got a nasty shock when I looked in the mirror and there was dried blood over my face hehe maybe the dream came true.
The hospital people were very nice and I struck an interesting conversation about a medical career. It seems like I do this everywhere I go now. The entire inside of my mouth is swollen. I feel like that groundskeeper guy in the Waterboy who no one understands when he talks haha. I also feel a little sleepy, so I might go back to bed.
Right now I'm wearing the cool scarf Mark and Fred gave me for my 18th which lifts my spirits somewhat. Oh I also bumped into Tom Cusbert who went through the same thing and that was cool.
Overall it wasn't all that bad :) Now where did those teeth go?

10/7/03 - Ken's Blog is Back!! I don't know if it's the boredom of the holidays or the fact that I'm reading the sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary , but I've decided to start my blog again!
You guys have missed out on lots of things, like the whole session of Med, all my Med Revue antics, the Avril concert, me getting my P's and a car, uni exams, my road trip to Orange and plenty of other things. However I have photos and videos on those things
Nothing much to look forward to these holidays actually. I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow? fun stuff.
It's nice to be back
