HAPPY NEW YEAR!!I am only 2 but I have lived in the years 98,99,2000 and now 2001..funny huh? This month mommy had to quit working to take it easy for the baby. But now I have her to myself so thats ok. On Jan 16th I finally had tubes put in my ears and the operation went great. Only took about 20 min and the only thing was I was a little cranky the rest of the day. Doc says my ears should be fine now and my speach should start to improve also!! Mommy started having some trouble in the middle of the momth so she was put on bedrest a little ealier than we all thought. Then on the 30th, she had her surgery to help keep the baby in longer. Even though I am healthy and perfect, mommy and daddy wouldnt want to go through my birth story again..or put me through it. So this should help a little, now mommy is on bed rest for good until the baby is born in July. But like I said...whatever it takes right?? Mommy and Daddy explain everything to me and I am starting to understand. Mommy asks me where the baby is, and now instead of pointing to MY pictures (since I am a BIG girl now) I lift up mommy's shirt and put my head on her belly. I even give the baby kisses...I cant wait till he/she can kiss me back though. Boy, I am going to be a great Big Sister!! Can't wait to update you next month.

This was slow month, until the end of it then everything happened. First of all it was christmas and Boy was Santa good to me. I got a slide and a chalk board, more dollas and clothes. I had the best time on christmas day...now that I am old enough to kind of understand it! Also the biggest news..mommy and daddy told me, next year I was going to have a baby brother or sister. Yep, mommy has a new baby inside of her tummy. She has explained to me that this will be tough and I will have to be a big girl for a few months...but to be a BIG sister, anything is worth it!!

Not too much going on this month. Of course Thanksgiving..we had a wonderful time celebrating with Family and Friends. I eat like a little pig and suprise everyone so much. Ear infection started again this month, so we know what is coming up. I have to go see the Ear Nose and Throat Doctor if this one doesnt go away. Luckily they don't hurt me anymore, the doctor says it is just fluid build-up. I guess that is a good thing anyway?? Thats about it..see ya later!

This was a big month..I turned TWO years old..YIPPEE!!! :) I am such a big girl now, no more baby business! I like to do everything on my own, climb in my high chair, eat, take my clothes off..brush my hair. Of course I don't do it quite as good as mommy or daddy, but it takes a little practice. I got lots of goodies for my birthday...a doll which I carry around everywhere with me, even in the car. She wears a hat..so now I like to wear my hats too! A few toys that teach me my ABC's and 123's with Elmo and Big Bird (my favorites). A BIG toy box from mommy and daddy, boy did I need one. And a ton of clothes..I didn't care too much about those, but mommy did and she says, I am set for winter now! This month I started saying "Baby" when I see my own pictures from a long time ago, and say "Momma" ALL the time! No ear infection this month, YEAH...hope this keeps up. Next month is Thanksgiving...then Christmas, boy I can't wait. See ya next month! :)

Well, lets see....of course you know the drill, ANOTHER ear infection. The Doctor says if I get 2 more in the next few months I may have to have tubes put in YUCK!! It makes mommy really nervous since they have to put me to sleep, but it is a common surgery they say..so we will see! Mommy and Daddy have decided to wait a while before even trying to have a brother or sister for me. The docs say it is very possible and the outcomes are good....but it is still very scary and plus, mommy says right now she thinks I am all she can handle. Nothing much else happened this month, I am still just babbling although it sounds like a whole other language..I am getting there! :)

Well, this month I decided to get sick with an Ear Infection. One day at day care mommy got a call that I was running 104 fever. Boy, was she scared. We went straight to the Dr..and that is what it was. Mommy hates it when I scare her like that, but man..I am a kid and those things are going to happen right? Well, then I decided 3 days AFTER I was done with my antibiotic to break out in red welts all over my body. I had developed and allergic reaction to Amoxicillin. Mommy is allergic to it too, but before we went to the Doc she never thought of that. This has been a VERY eventful month. We also went on Vacation to San Antonio. It was our first Family vacation where we werent going to visit family. It was just the 3 of us and we had sooooo much fun. We saw the Alamo, the Wax Museum, went shopping and out to eat. But my all time fav was Sea World. We had a blast there...remember I LOVE to swim. Well, that is what we did for HOURS. Mommy and Daddy took TONS of pics (4 1/2 rolls to be exact) and she will put them up as soon as we get them developed. I can wait for you to see me looking so cute in my bathing suit!! :) This month my Big Brother went started school at A&M. As I said before we are all so proud of him. He is having lot of fun, I can't wait until we get to go visit him. Probably next month...you will know when we do! Another exciting thing this month, mommy and daddy have decided to try to have another baby. Yep, a baby brother or sister for me!! Mommy will have to go through surgery in order to hold the baby in and I will have to be EXTRA good and help mommy when she does have the baby inside of her. Mommy has a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks to see what all needs to be done. She will keep you informed.

Well, Fourth of July came and I am still with MawMaw..Mommy and Daddy had the rest of the family over and they watched fireworks and they said they thought about me and missed me a lot. Again, me on the other hand..not missing them at all. While in Louisiana and away from mommy and daddy I decided to start saying Bye-Bye..mommy said she KNEW it would happen while I was gone :( So, we just sit on the phone forever and say Bye-Bye to each other while I wave on the other end. WWOOHHOO...July 7th, I come home. Mommy and Daddy drove to La to get me and they just would not stop hugging and kissing all over me..from the looks on my face they said it looked like I was dreaming they were even there. It sure was nice to see them again though!! That weekend we went to my cousins B-day party and got to go swimming, I LOVE to swim!! :) As for the rest of the month, nothing much happened except mommy and daddy said they will not be needing another break for a while...they wont let me out of their site!! :)

Well, as I said Mommy statred work this month. She says she enjoys it, but she really misses me on those days. I have made a lot of new friends at day care though. At the end of this month I still cry when mommy leaves me and that upsets mommy pretty bad. Maybe I will stop soon...think I should?? My brothers and MawMaw came to visit us. They stayed for one week and I went back to Louisiana with MawMaw to give Mommy and Daddy a little break. I have only been gone 2 days and mommy is already wishing I were at home. Me on the other hand, I don't even realize Im not with them. That is about it for June...I am still running around and being a little rug rat...mommy said that will probably never stop though!! :)

At the beginning of this month I weigh 23lbs and am 31 inches long. Since I have a new doctor she didnt know all about me being premature yet. She actually said if mommy hadnt told her she wouldnt even know. I have almost caught up...she was very impressed at how much I have grown and what all I do now. Everyone can see how smart I am...I play with all kinds of toys and figure out things that just amaze mommy and daddy. Right now my favorite toys are mommy's tupperware bowls. I get in the cabinet and pull them all out..mommy has to look in my toy box when she needs one. But she says that is better than me playing with the big pots and pans. Now I am not walking..I am RUNNING, lol!! My Big brother graduated high school this month, so we went to Louisiana to see him. He is going to Texas A&M with a full scholarship...my we are all SOO proud of him. Mommy has decided to go back to work only part-time starting in June. She will be working 3 days a week, but my daddy is off one of those days. So, I will be in daycare only 2 days a week. Mommy says it will be good for me, I absolutely go CRAZY when I see other kids. I love to be around them, and she thinks it is about time I interact with them and meet new friends!! I am 19 months old you know (boy, that sounds so old to mommy). She will keep you updated.

We finally got our own place this month. We are living in Ft Worth. We all love it...we have a big deck and daddy is going to put a swing out there for me very soon. I am now walking everywhere...getting into everything and driving mommy crazy. We still do not have a car so me and mommy are walking a lot. I LOVE being in my stroller....I wave at people and try to say "Hi!" When I hear music now I stop whatever I am doing and DANCE!! Mommy is so happy....she has always been a dancer! Mommy also found a place down the street that has gymnastics and I am going to do that AS SOON as I turn 2 yrs old. Which isnt too far away..I am growing into such a big girl everyday, mommy is so proud of me, but kinda sad at the same time. :(

Well, Mommy finally has a chance to catch up here. We moved to Dallas in Feb and stayed with my grandma and grandad for a little while. In this time I got a stomach virus, it lasted a few days..but it wasn't serious. I am taking more and more steps, but still not confident enough to walk across the room yet. I have now started to stack measuring cups in the right cups and clap for myself when I do something good!! I am learning so much everyday....

OK, After going to the doctor 4 times in 2 weeks as of the 1st I am over the viral infection, so no more treatments...Ear infection is gone in one ear and still a little in the other. But I never even acted like I felt the earaches...so it is just a matter of keeping on the antibiotics...which I seem to really like the taste of :) OK other big news..we found out on the 1st as of Feb 18th (my Grandads B-day) we will be living in Dallas. Dallas is where mommy was born and raised and all of her family is. It is also where mommy and daddy met (well, Arlington actually)so daddy really likes it there too. So, we will be really busy moving, but everyone is really excited. Mommy will keep you updated.
Updates for January 2000
Well, it is the new year and everyone is just great. I am such a big girl now. Lets give you the run down...I have started saying Da-Da, Ma-Ma and Ba-Ba..althought I dont really know what they mean yet :) I have taken 3 steps on my own toward mommy, but I am not just getting up and going...and for some reason mommy isn't rushing me... I can now crawl on and off the couch, whenever I please. I open all the cabinets and I am really into hiding things from mommy, you know like under the bed, that is my FAVORITE place...or in my toybox, wherever I can. I got my VERY first cold and ear infection (one in both ears) at the very end of this month. Mommy got really scared because the Doc said it looked like a mild case of RSV, so thank God for those Synagis shots...or I could have ended up back in the hospital. I still had to be on antibiotics, steriods to open up my chest and Nebulizer treatments (to help me breath without wheezing) every 4 hours. The good thing is I don't act like I feel bad, or am in pain...Which mommy is really glad about. Also we are leaving the bottle and jar foods in this month...I am a big girl and eat all table foods and drink very well from my sippy cup...once again, another VERY busy month. WWHHEWWW.....read on to the next month to see how it all turned out...

This month has been a busy one!! First of all the weekend of the 10th me and mommy went to visit Grandma, Grandad and My uncle Dusty in Dallas. Boy, did we have fun. Mommy and Grandma went shopping every day and I got to spend a lot of time with Grandad...I think he really loves me, lol!! I got lots of presents, stuffed animals, shoes, clothes...everything a little 1 yr old could want!! Mommy and Daddy even got a viewcam so they can record me and send tapes to Dallas for everyone to watch!! I am growing up so fast, still not walking but am standing more and getting VERY sneaky. I know what right and wrong is..the funny thing, I like to do the WRONG things just to see if mommy can catch me, lol!! My hair is growing like a weed...when it is wet it goes down to my shoulders..but it is so curly it just curls right up as soon as it's dry!! Mommy took lots of pictures this month but hasn't had time to get them devloped yet..but you better belive they will be up ASAP!! Mommy had her B-day and her and Daddy's anniversary this month, see told ya it has been busy!

This month I have grown a lot. Not just in size, but I just seem so smart!!! I am still just babbling, but CONSTANTLY!! Mommy and Daddy say when I do start talking, I will probably NEVER stop, lol!! I am standing for a long time on my own now, but still haven't taken a step. I do walk around holding on to the furniture though!!! I am getting my second Synagis shot for this year next week and boy Mommy and Daddy are happy I am still getting those!! Thanksgiving was wonderful...we had Turduken, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Yams, Dirty Rice and Cheesecake. and YES, I ate all of that...Mommy says I am a little pig. She is glad that I like all kinds of foods though and hopes it stays that way!!!! At the end of this month I am 17 lbs 26 3/4 inches!

I am such a big girl now!! I am a whole year old and do not seem to be behind at all! I had a great B-Day party and got lots of clothes and toys that drive mommy crazy (but they teach me a lot )....so it's OK. Thanks Everyone!!!! I am 16 lbs 3 oz and 27 3/4 inches long (on the 13th). Im also now off of formula and on Whole milk..which i just LOVE!! I started sitting up unassisted last month, but now I can eat and play with my toys, it's my favorite position. I now have 4 teeth and FOUR on their way in, and Mommy is starting to brush them now, just like a big girl. I am starting to hold on to smaller things (like just ONE of mommy's fingers) when I stand now...so Mommy and Daddy think I could walk ANY day!! I am going, going, going ALL of the time..unless I am asleep. Which now days I only take a couple of cat naps each day for about 20 min. Mommy doesn't get much rest, but what does she expect out of me? When I go to bed at night, I usually sleep at least 10 hours. I am babbling constantly now, and Mommy thinks she may have heard a few words slip out like Mamma and Hi...but she is not too sure about that, lol!!! All and All I am a typical One-Year-Old, getting into things Im not supposed to. Putting EVERYTHING in my mouth, and trying to hide it from Mommy. But most importantly getting bigger, staying healthy and showing everyone just how smart I really am!!!!! For Halloween I was a Dalmation. I looked so cute and I loved being all dressed up. My mommy will add more pictures of that as soon as she can!
This month I went to the Eye Doctor, and he said I am a little nearsighted and have a little stigmatism in each eye, which should improve. So, I don't need glasses and we go back for a check up in 1 year!!!!! I don't get weighed at the eye doctor so we can just estimate that I am about 15lbs. I started sitting up on my own on the 19th of this month and mommy saw my two top teeth coming through on the 23rd. Been a busy month....also i am fully crawling now and going EVERYWHERE!!!!! Mommy can't keep up with me, didn't she say she couldn't wait for this, I think she may regret it now!! :) I have also started pulling up on things like the couch and the table...the GLASS table, mommy and daddy have to move it to another room now, for some reason that is my favorite thing to climb on!! :)
This month me and mommy went to visit Grandma, Grandad and Uncle Dusty in Dallas. We had a great time, although at first I showed them how well my lungs work. Mommy guesses it was being in a different place, but soon I was fine and enjoyed being with them! We went to the Endocrinologist to test my Thyroid levels (which are normal). I now weigh 14 lbs 11oz and am 25 inches long. I am starting to sit up for longer periods of time with my hands down beside me, so I can't sit and play yet. Still creeping around, semi crawling...mommy can't wait until I can REALLY crawl. We have been doing this for months now! At the end of this month, I finally have enough hair for mommy to put a tiny ponytail on top of my head like Pebbles on the Flinstones...I look so cute!!
On the 14th of this month, I am 13 lbs 12 oz 25 1/2 inches long. I started eating meats and drinking juice, but I dont like them unless mommy mixes it with fruit or veggies!!! I have the Iron count of an adult male, says my Pediatrician....she expected that I may be anemic, so that is wonderful!! I am also getting my first two teeth, on bottom. I am being pretty cranky but don't seem to be in too much pain..hope it stays that way!! I also went to the cardiologist at the end of the month for the first time since leaving the hospital. My ASD is still there and the Doc says we will have to do surgery before I start school...so we still have a few years. Everything else looks fine and it isnt causing me any trouble at all. I am getting bigger everyday and starting to REALLY creep around....ill be crawling soon!!
This month I started solids. I LOVE veggies, even better than fruits!! I weigh 13 lbs in the middle of the month and am doing wonderfully!! I got my very first cold this month, but nothing bad at all. A little benadryl and I was fine!! We had our NICU reunion this month and it was so fun. I got to see all of the nurses and doctors that took such great care of me and some that really got attached to me and cried when I left (mommy says it was a good cry though) They were very happy to see me and pleased with how much I have grown and what I can do!!!!
Went to the Endocrinologist this month...everything is fine!! A the end of this month I weigh 11lbs 10oz and I GOT MY EARS PIERCED!!! I cried when they did it, but as soon as my daddy picked me up I stopped. I was a very big girl..and look so cute now!! :) I am now rolling over both ways all of the time...that is what I do most of the day!! This is also mommy's first Mother's Day. Daddy and I cooked for her and cleaned for her and just let her rest ALL DAY!!!!! She says she really enjoyed it and will never forget that day!
This month my grandma came down to see me. She stayed for almost a whole week and we had a lot of fun. She bought me a lot of clothes and I practiced rolling over from back to front for her. The middle of this month I was 9 lbs 7 oz 22 1/2 inches long and got to start eating Rice Cereal. I am doing so well with it. Everyone told my mommy I would spit it out, but I eat it just like I know what Im doing!!
This month I came off my caffine and my apnea montitor...YEAH!!! I haven't had an Apnea spell since I have been home (actually 1 month before I left the hospital) So, now I am just on Synthroid for my Hypothyroidism....but they say Ill be on that until im 3 years old. We went to the Eye Doctor and Guess what...My ROP has regressed on its own...no surgery and my eyes are fine..isnt that amazing!!!! On the 31st of this month I weighed 8 lbs 5 oz 21 1/2 inches long.
This month we have seen every doctor imaginable. Everything is going great through my first month at home. Mommy and Daddy are just so happy to have me here and I seem to be adjusting wonderfully!!!! I havent had any Apnea, although my monitor has gone off a few times..false alarms. But BOY does that scare mommy and daddy...whheewww!!! At the end of this month I weigh 6 lbs 1 oz.
