" HOMELESS SHELTERS "

Residents can stay at Harbor House for up to six months. They are required to hold a job (unless disabled), and save about $900 of their earnings to help support themselves after leaving the shelter. We work with agencies throughout the community to help find employment for the residents. Help is also available to those who wish to get their GED or pursue vocational training.

Residents are required to spend 20 hours a month working at the shelter. Duties include mowing the lawn, cleaning, etc. And for minimum wage residents will work for private individuals.

We take quite seriously the need for a drug and alcohol-free facility. There is hope for anyone who has an alcohol or drug problem. Jesus can and will set you free if you sincerely turn your life over to Him.

The use of vulgar language is prohibited at Harbor House. Disregard for this rule, after a warning, will result in a 3-day suspension.

Church attendance is a mandatory requirement for residency at Harbor House. Residents attend the church of their choice.

Bible studies are held three times a week in our Chapel and residents are required to attend unless they are working. The studies are conducted by volunteers from our local churches.

Christian counseling is available for those who request it.

Harbor House believes the Lord fully intends to restore the ministry of the cure of souls to the church, using both Ministers and lay believers who will stand on the completeness of His Word. They will minister under the anointing of God's Holy Spirit and rely on God's principles as outlined in His word. They will operate as a priesthood of believers and ministers of God's love, God's grace, God's mercy, God's faithfulness, and God's wisdom to those who are suffering from mental/emotional hurts and problems.
