Jean-Claude Malepart, a fifty year old respected member of the Canadian Parliament had terminal cancer, was given no chance to recover, but the miraculous waters from the Shrine at Lourdes made his cancer totally vanish! "God brought me back from the brink of death" Malepart said, regarding the miraculous events surrounding his healing. Malepart suffered from widespread cancer of the lungs, bone and liver and was in such pain during the last part of his illness that he considered killing himself. Malepart's cancer was diagnosed in December of 1988, and was entering the terminal stage even then. The cancer had spread completely throughout his body. "I was devastated when I found out the extent of my cancer, and I knew the odds were that I would be dead soon." Malepart began treatment with the standard treatments of radiation and chemotherapy, all to no avail. The tumors remained with practically no change, and Malepart grew weaker as his pain intensified. He grew so weak that he knew the end was near and thats when he decided his only chance was to go bath in the miraculous healing waters of Lourdes, France. Lourdes is well known for the many healings that have happened there since a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary was seen in 1858. Even though Malepart was barely able to get himself there, he forced himself to do so and when he was there he said, “I prayed and splashed holy water onto my chest, back and stomach. I could feel a kind of healing power penetrating right through my skin and into my body.” Malepart stayed only three days at Lourdes and then returned home to Canada but brought back thirty-six bottles of the holy water for use at home. “I felt better and better as I kept using the water,” he said. “My strength returned and my pain gradually vanished.” Seven days after returning from Lourdes he went to his doctor and was given a clean bill of health. “It was a miracle. I believe the Lord helped him--that there was divine intervention,” said Dr. Joseph Ayoub who treated Malepart. Dr. Ayoub, who is associate professor of medicine at the University of Montreal added, “While we did treat Malepart with chemotherapy and radiation, I don’t believe treatment would have produced this remission on its own--especially so quickly. I believe his visit to Lourdes and his use of Lourdes holy water definitely helped save his life.” Malepart
says that a day does not go by that he does not thank God for answering
his prayers.
