Todd County, Kentucky Genealogy
The act of the Kentucky Legislature to form Todd County was passed on December 30, 1819. However, it was to be effected after April 1, 1820. The land which now includes Todd County was formed for her parent counties of Logan and Christian. (The western area from Christian and the eastern area from Logan.) The county was named in honor of Colonel John Todd, a native of Pennsylvania, who died in the battle of Blue Licks.
This is the second Todd County courthouse built in 1835.
