Our Capitol is located on the Kentucky river in Frankfort. It sits on a cliffside of the Kentucky river, visible from beautiful overlooks and scenic roads. Our State Capitol is viewed every year by many tourists and visitors. One of the largest, working floral clocks, is located on the Capitol grounds surrounded by beautiful flower gardens, and fountains. Inside the capitol are many attractions for both young and old. Located across from the Capitol is the Govenors Mansion, which can be toured on specific days. Also in this same complex is a beautiful rose garden

We have several lakes that include excellent beaches for those who love swimming and sun bathing.
The Cumberland is a beautiful and historical place in Kentucky. Besides being located in the heart of Kentucky, it is also noted for the Cumberland Gap which was a popular crossing for pioneers going west. The Cumberland Gap was the most used passage through the mountains. Only on Cumberland falls can you see a moon bow. It is a special effect cause at night from the falls, that leaves a moon bow visible even at night. The Cumberland railroad runs through the heart of the Cumberland mountains and is a scenic favorite for tourists. The Cumberland river is also a favorite for the white water rafting fans. It offers the thrill and chills to please even the advanced rafter.
