Male raced out to a 57-8 halftime lead on their way to a 57-28 victory over Bryan Station to improve to 8-0 for the season.  Male recorded 16 first downs and 404 yards of total offense.  They were penalized once for 15 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Bryan Station recorded 15 first downs and 352 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized twice for 16 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Tony Mosley led Males’ ground game with 53 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Jaylin Bross carried the ball nine times for 51 yards.  Q. Wright added 35 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Garrett Dennis completed seven of seven passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns.  Elijah Paris completed two of seven passes for 69 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Cainel Isom caught four passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns.  Michael Warner added three receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown.  G. Edison added two receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Michael Warner scored on a 69 yard punt return.  Warner also returned one kickoff for 32 yards.  Deris Cox led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles.  Joe Kuerzi added four solo and two assisted tackles and returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown.  Jayden Rankin recorded four solo and one assisted tackles. 

Amodeus Taylor led Bryan Station’s ground game with 109 yards on 18 carries.  Jalen Burbage carried the ball 12 times for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Jalen Burbage completed 11 of 19 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Kendrick Curry caught six passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns.  Dadrien Taylor added two receptions for 11 yards.  DeShawn Starks added two catches for four yards and a touchdown.  Kyran Campbell led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Bryson Fields added three solo and two assisted tackles.  Dennis Abw recorded two solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.

Graves County 40 Marshall County 17 – Cody Goatley carried the ball 15 times for 117 yards and four touchdowns.

 

Henry Clay 51 Scott County 27 – Henry Clay scores a monumental upset as Ramond Jackson caught six passes for 159 yards and a touchdown, returned a kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown, and intercepted two passes he returned for 70 yards.  DJ VanHorn carried the ball 14 times for 160 yards and two touchdowns and completed 11 of 20 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns.  Austin Barnett led Scott County with 188 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries.

 

Johnson Central 53 East Carter 14 – Joe Jackson carried the ball 10 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns.  Jake Headley was seven of seven on extra points, kicked a field goal, and recorded six touchbacks on kickoffs.

 

Lexington Christian Academy 49 Middlesboro 8 – Jayden Barnhardt completed five of seven passes for 137 yards and four touchdowns.

 

Male 49 Pleasure Ridge Park 0 – Male has recorded four shutouts and only given up 18 points in seven games.

 

Mayfield 63 Murray 28 – Kent Trey Matthews carried the ball 21 times for 263 yards and three touchdowns.

St. Xavier 21 Louisville Trinity 7 – Keegan Sullivan completed 17 of 28 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another touchdown.

 

Tates Creek 32 Danville 25 – Luke Duby carried the ball 10 times for 78 yards and three touchdowns and completed 17 of 23 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown.

 

Wayne County 40 Rockcastle County 6 – Brody Weaver completed eight of 16 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

 

West Carter 40 Bath County 28 – Leetavious Cline carried the ball 19 times for 73 yards and three touchdowns to lead West Carter.  Landan Swartz carried the ball 31 times for 200 yards and two touchdowns for Bath County.

 

Western Hills 32 Washington County 0 – Wandale Robinson carried the ball 19 times for 181 yards and four touchdowns, caught one touchdown pass, and recorded 12 tackles on defense.

DeSales improves their record to 6-0 with a hard fought 27-24 victory over North Hardin on the road.  DeSales recorded 21 first downs and 414 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized five times for 25 yards and had one pass intercepted.  North Hardin recorded 20 first downs and 427 yards of total offense.  The Trojans were penalized six times for 54 yards and had one pass intercepted.

Antione Johnson led DeSales ground game with 141 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.  Aaron Pfaadt carried the ball 14 times for 75 yards and a touchdown.  Aaron Pfaadt completed 12 of 21 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Demetri Scott caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Antione Johnson added three receptions for 27 yards.  Jayden Scroggin caught two passes for 46 yards.  Darren Hollenkamp led the defense with two solo and one assisted tackles.  Savion Stivers intercepted a pass.

Eric Moore led North Hardin’s ground game with 78 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Lavell Wright carried the ball 14 times for 73 yards.  Eric Moore completed 19 of 26 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Josh Moore caught eight passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns.  Ramaj Adams added six receptions for 63 yards.  Eric Moore punted twice for a 48.5 average with a long punt of 51 yards.  Elan Patry intercepted a pass he returned 18 yards.

Lexington Christian Academy raced out to a 22-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 49-8 victory over Middlesboro.  LCA only ran 19 offensive plays as compared to 64 for Middlesboro but averaged 20.4 yards per play and 34.3 yards per pass.  LCA dialed long distance today scoring on plays of 55, 76, 70, 51, and 69 yards.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 11 first downs and 388 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized once for five yards.  Middlesboro recorded 17 first downs and 253 yards of total offense.  They were not penalized tonight and lost one fumble.

Will Vernon led LCA’s ground game with one carry for 76 yards and a touchdown.  Xavier Brown carried the ball twice for 68 yards and a touchdown.  Jayden Barnhardt completed five of seven passes for 137 yards and four touchdowns.  Mason Moore completed his only pass for 69 yards and a touchdown.  DeArious Smith caught three passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns.  Elijah Hammond caught one pass for 69 yards and a touchdown.  Xavier Brown added a 51 yard scoring reception.  Will Vernon also added a touchdown on a one yard scoring reception.  Neal Dickey led the defense with five solo and eight assisted tackles.  Kaleb Bolton added 10 assisted tackles.  Mattie Lebryk recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.

Sebastian Wagoner led Middlesboro’s ground game with 63 yards on nine carries.  Caleb Bogonko carried the ball 12 times for 52 yards.  Rhyan Rogers added 39 yards on 11 carries.  Alex Mason carried the ball 15 times for 38 yards.  Eric Helton added 30 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Eric Helton completed two of seven passes for 27 yards.  Caleb Bogonko caught two passes for 27 yards.  Sebastian Wagoner led the defense with four solo tackles.

Frederick Douglass improves to 7-0 with a 46-0 shutout victory over Bryan Station.  Frederick Douglass recorded 24 first downs and 430 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized 12 times for 140 yards and lost two fumbles.  Bryan Station recorded 15 first downs and 241 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized seven times for 77 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Coffman led the defense with three solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Ty Bryant added three solo and two assisted tackles.  R. Thompson recorded two solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 10 yards.  Devin Neal added three solo tackles and scored on a 31 yard interception return.  F. Jewett added two solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 20 yard loss and intercepted a pass he returned 76 yards.

Jalen Burbage led the Bryan Station ground game with 105 yards on 15 carries.  P. Kenguruka carried the ball 12 times for 36 yards.  Jalen Burbage completed 12 of 32 passes for 79 yards with three interceptions.  Kendrick Curry caught eight passes for 63 yards.  Bryson Fields led the defense with nine solo and seven assisted tackles.  C. McKinley added three solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Jalen Burbage was credited with a fumble recovery.

Anderson County improves to 6-0 with a 43-8 victory over Grant County.  Anderson County recorded 10 first downs and 321 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized 14 times for 123 yards.  Grant County recorded 12 first downs and 143 yards of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 19 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted. 

Brennan Maxberry led Anderson County’s ground game with 105 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.  Charles Collins carried the ball three times for 35 yards.  Kynan Russell carried the ball once for a five yard touchdown run.  Jagger Gillis completed four of five passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns.  Kynan Russell caught two passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.  Charles Collins added two receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown.  D. Dearinger led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Aaron Chilton added five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards and intercepted a pass.  Colton Cornish and Charles Collins each recorded two solo and three assisted tackles.  Kynan Russell also scored on a 93 yard blocked field goal return.

Nathan Kaiser led Grant County’s ground game with 14 yards on 11 carries.  Conner Knipp completed 10 of 26 passes for 124 yards with one interception.  Colby Glass caught four passes for 74 yards.  Chandler Haney added two receptions for 39 yards.  Nathan Kaiser returned three kickoffs for 67 yards with a long return of 24 yards.  Ben Vickers led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles.  C. Gillispie added three solo tackles.  Adam Epperson recorded two solo tackles which resulted in losses totaling seven yards.  John Skilling scores a touchdown on a 0 yard blocked punt return.

Paul Laurence Dunbar led 28-12 in the third quarter and held on for a 28-24 victory over Lafayette.  Lafayette held the advantage in first downs and total yardage but was error prone as they committed five turnovers and had several costly penalties.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 11 first downs and 179 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized 13 times for 97 yards and lost a fumble.  Lafayette recorded 17 first downs and 384 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized 17 times for 148 yards, lost three fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Mitchell Joseph led Dunbar’s ground game with 79 yards on 20 carries.  Alex Bard carried the ball 10 times for 25 yards and a touchdown.  Nate Thomas added 17 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Tanner Cox completed four of 10 passes for 62 yards and one touchdown.  J. Robinson caught one pass for 32 yards.  Dre Thurston added one reception for 27 yards and a touchdown.  Howard Jackson led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Mason Haggard added eight solo tackles and recovered a fumble.  Nate Thomas recorded four solo and four assisted tackles.  Brayden Moore added four solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an 11 yard loss and intercepted a pass.  Isaac Armstrong recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an eight yard loss and scored on a 25 yard fumble recovery.  Dre Thurston intercepted a pass he returned 19 yards and John Law recovered a fumble. 

Jaylen Lawson led Lafayette’s ground game with 132 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  TeAndre Newcomb carried the ball 15 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns.  TJ Robinson added 81 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  Quinton Turner completed three of seven passes for 19 yards with two interceptions.  TeAndre Newcomb completed four of seven passes for 68 yards.  John Combs and TeAndre Newcomb each caught two passes for 12 and 11 yards respectively.  N. Curtsinger and Zach O’Nan each caught one pass for 30 and 25 yards respectively.  TeAndre Newcomb returned two kickoffs for 39 yards with a long return of 21 yards.  Jaylen Lawson led the defense with four solo and seven assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss and recovered a fumble.  Jordan Delli added four solo and four assisted tackles.  Jay Brank recorded three solo and six assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.

Tates Creek defeated Danville by a score of 32-25 tonight but the outcome was in doubt until the final play.  Danville QB Zach Thornton went out in the first half with a shoulder injury but Fr. QB Brady Morse kept the Admirals in the game and his long pass on the final play almost tied the game but fell incomplete on a close play.  Tates Creek recorded 21 first downs and 319 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized 10 times for 74 yards.  Danville recorded 16 first downs and 263 yards of total offense.  The Admirals were penalized nine times for 70 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Tates Creek made a key defensive stand late in the game as Danville returned a punt within the Tates Creek 5 yard line but the Commodore defense held and forced Danville to settle for a field goal.

Luke Duby led Tates Creek’s ground game with 78 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.  Willie McGhee carried the ball 12 times for 65 yards.  Luke Duby completed 17 of 23 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown.  Miles Thomas caught five passes for 74 yards.  Mikaleb Coffey added five receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown.  Keshawn Herron returned one kickoff for 66 yards.  Mikaleb Coffey returned two kickoffs for 46 yards with a long return of 24 yards and returned one punt for 13 yards.  JD Hawkins had a monster game on defense with eight solo and seven assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 21 yards.  Jaheim Mullins added five solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  Noah James recorded three solo and seven assisted tackles.  Isaih McFarland recovered a fumble and Mikaleb Coffey intercepted a pass.

Isiah Miller led Danville’s ground game with 71 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Brennen McGuire carried the ball nine times for 58 yards.  Warren Griffin added 42 yards on seven carries.  Zach Thornton completed four of seven passes for 43 yards.  Brady Morse completed eight of 10 passes for 63 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Brennen McGuire caught six passes for 18 yards and a touchdown.  Damon Jackson added four receptions for 73 yards.  Brennen McGuire returned two punts for 46 yards with a long return of 40 yards and returned two kickoffs for 77 yards with a long return of 46 yards.  Isiah Miller returned two kickoffs for 46 yards with a long return of 26 yards.  Tres Walker punted twice for a 43.5 average with a long punt of 45 yards.  Brennen McGuire led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles.  Darrian Bell and Chase McQueary each recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.  Jaylon Brashear recorded two solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.

Henry Clay stunned Scott County in a 51-27 victory over the Cardinals.  Scott County led 27-17 but Henry Clay scored 34 unanswered points to earn the victory.  This broke a 10 game losing streak to the Cardinals and was Scott County’s first district loss since 2014.  This game has a big impact on the playoffs as Scott County will now have to defeat Frederick Douglass to avoid opening the playoffs on the road.  Ramond Jackson amassed 305 all purpose yards (receiving, kickoff returns, and interception returns) and scored two touchdowns and DJ VanHorn passed for 225 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 160 yards and two more touchdowns to lead Henry Clay.  Scott County rolled up 477 yards and four touchdowns on the ground but threw two interceptions and was flagged 13 times for 142 yards.

Henry Clay recorded 19 first downs and 477 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized eight times for 100 yards and lost a fumble.  Scott County recorded 26 first downs and 477 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 13 times for 142 yards and had two passes intercepted.

DJ VanHorn led Henry Clay’s ground game with 160 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.  Dorien Hardin carried the ball eight times for 31 yards.  Nate Steiner added 30 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  DJ VanHorn completed 11 of 20 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns.  Ramond Jackson caught six passes for 159 yards and a touchdown.  Jakobi Godfrey added two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown.  Chris Dabney caught one pass for 48 yards.  Ramond Jackson returned a kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown.  Ramond Jackson led the defense with five solo and nine assisted tackles and intercepted two passes he returned for 70 yards.  C. Maynard added three solo and 12 assisted tackles.  William Webb recorded two solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Jordan Kimball added four solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Graham Wald kicked field goals of 23, 36, and 26 yards.

Austin Barnett led Scott County’s ground game with 188 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries.  Bronson Brown carried the ball 16 times for 142 yards and Payton Brown added 131 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Cade McKee was zero of five in the passing game with two interceptions.  Austin Barnett returned six kickoffs for 134 yards with a long return of 29 yards.  Bryan Hudson led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Berk Watts added four solo and seven assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards and recovered a fumble.

Friday September 21st

 

Bath County 47 Pendleton County 14 – Landan Swartz carried the ball 16 times for 204 yards and a touchdown.

 

Ballard 17 Eastern 12 – Larry Cummings completed 15 of 19 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns to lead Ballard.

 

Bell County 61 McCreary Central 0 – Colby Frazier carried the ball six times for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Boyle County 21 North Hardin 14 – Tanner Crawford carried the ball 28 times for 144 yards and one touchdown and Landen Bartleson added 163 yards on 14 carries.

 

Bowling Green 49 Greenwood 7 – Beau Buchanan completed 11 of 13 passes for 233 yards and five touchdowns.

 

Caldwell County 37 Paducah Tilghman 22 – Joby Jaggers completed 22 of 32 passes for 331 yards and five touchdowns.

 

Campbellsville 42 Fort Knox 0 – Arren Hash completed nine of 14 passes for 223 yards and five touchdowns.

 

Casey County 43 Jackson County 6 – Austin Campbell completed eight of 11 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Covington Catholic 35 St. Francis Desales Columbus (OH) 14 – Casey McGinness became the all time CovCath career leading rusher with a big game tonight as he carried the ball 28 times for 198 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Collins 34 Spencer County 14 – Jaden Wilson carried the ball 11 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Conner 34 Newport Central Catholic 18 – Christian Webster carried the ball 21 times for 230 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Danville 28 Garrard County 22 – Zack Thornton threw an 85 yard touchdown pass to Brennen McGuire for the game winner and ensured the victory with a late interception.  Thornton completed nine of 11 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns.

 

DeSales 38 Lexington Catholic 24 – Antione Johnson carried the ball 24 times for 150 yards and a touchdown and Aaron Pfaadt carried the ball six times for 51 yards and a touchdown and completed eight of 11 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns to lead DeSales.  Lexington Catholic was led by Beau Allen who completed 33 of 47 passes for 393 yards and three touchdowns.

 

East Jessamine 35 Whitley County 28 – Dylan Moore carried the ball 12 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Eminence 50 Shawnee 6 – Elijah Montero carried the ball 16 times for 236 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Franklin-Simpson 48 Glasgow 21 – Tre Bass carried the ball 11 times for 201 yards and four touchdowns.

 

Fern creek 58 Atherton 19 – Terrance Mitchell carried the ball twice for 127 yards and a touchdown.

 

Frederick Douglass 49 Paul Laurence Dunbar 15 – Damarco Fishback carried the ball five times for 95 yards and four touchdowns.

 

Graves County 64 Apollo 49 – Ryan Mathis completed 12 of 21 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns and Cody Goatley carried the ball 24 times for 223 yards and three touchdowns to lead Graves County.

 

Greenup County 61 East Carter 24 – Eli Sammons completed 20 of 23 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns and Dalton Halsted carried the ball 12 times for 191 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Henry Clay 30 Lafayette 7 - DJ VanHorn completed four of five passes for 78 yards and a touchdown and carried the ball nine times for 56 yards and a touchdown.

 

Johnson Central 48 Boyd County 7 – Joe Jackson carried the ball 17 times for 137 yards and five touchdowns.

 

Knox Central 49 Russell County 19 – Bradley Worley completed 10 of 10 passes for 267 yards and five touchdowns.

 

Letcher County Central 49 Perry County Central 35 – LCC captured a big win despite Perry County central’s Jayden Neace recording 277 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries.

 

Lexington Christian Academy 35 Kentucky Country day 7 – Thomas White carried the ball 14 times for 88 yards and a touchdown and Jed Green added 71 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries to lead LCA.

 

Madison Central 43 Bourbon County 0 – Ethan Hahn carried the ball four times for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Male 30 Butler 12 – Garrett Dennis completed 20 of 29 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another touchdown.  Izayah Cummings caught eight passes for 165 yards and a touchdown.

 

Mayfield 45 Corbin 21 – Jaden Stinson completed 13 of 19 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Murray 59 Russellville 12 – Hunter Utley completed 14 of 20 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns.

 

Pike County Central 49 Floyd Central 32 – Isaac Thacker carried the ball 19 times for 205 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Powell County 76 Magoffin County 46 – Nathan Skidmore carried the ball 23 times for 343 yards and six touchdowns.

 

Pulaski County 39 Madison Southern 22 – Wiley Cain completed 23 of 37 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Scott County 57 Bryan Station 18 – Bronson Brown carried the ball nine times for 141 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Shelby Valley 50 Betsy Layne 0 – Seth Johnson carried the ball nine times for 202 yards and three touchdowns.
