Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Carter Hendrickson, 6-7 Jr. Kyle Rose, 6-6 Sr. Austin Hall, 6-0 Jr. Pearce Dalton, and 6-2 Jr. Will Hacker.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Sr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Max Sparkman, 5-11 Jr. Javen Hardin, and 6-0 Sr. Keegan Bailey.

 

Lexington Christian Academy led 18-7 after the first quarter but Lexington Catholic stepped up the defense and outscored the Eagles 45-22 over the rest of the game to earn a 52-40 victory.  Lexington Catholic recorded 18 steals and scored 24 points off 22 Lexington Christian Academy turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 40.5% from the field including two of 14 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 16 of 25 free throws and 24 rebounds.  LCA shot 39.4% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored four points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Zan Payne led Lexington Catholic with 20 points, six rebounds, and six steals.  Javen Hardin added 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. 

 

Will Hacker led Lexington Christian Academy with 10 points including three three point baskets.  Carter Hendrickson added nine points including two three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Kyle Rode recorded eight points and eight rebounds.  Austin Hall chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Morgan DeFoor.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-7 So. Taleya Todd, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.

 

Scott County led 31-24 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for a 65-40 victory over Madison Central.  Scott County shot 30.5% from the field including five of 27 from the three point line.  The Cardinals attempted 36 more shots (82-46) from the field than Madison Central.  The Cardinals connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 31 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 30.4% from the field including two of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 10 of 24 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored five points off eight Scott County turnovers.

 

Peyton Riddle led Scott County with 16 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Maaliya Owens added 11 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Morgan DeFoor chipped in with nine points.  Zakiyia Holt recorded eight points and 10 rebounds.  5-5 Sr. Zephaniah Gray added eight points and four rebounds.  Juliette Smith recorded six points, five rebounds, and five assists.

 

Bailey Vanover led Madison Central with 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals.  Madison Barnard added seven points and five rebounds.  Taleya Todd also scored seven points and three steals.  Je’Kauri Mckeithen added three points and pulled down 16 rebounds.

SIUE held a 10 point lead late and withstood a late Eastern Kentucky rally to earn an 85-82 victory in a game in which the Cougars never surrendered the lead.  SIUE shot 56.6% from the field including nine of 17 from the three point line.  The Cougars connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 EKU turnovers.  EKU shot 44.6% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 16 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 SIUE turnovers.  EKU held an 18-4 advantage on second chance points.

 

Jalen Henry was virtually unstoppable tonight as he scored 35 points including five three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  Henry was 13 of 18 from the field including five of six from beyond the arc and four of seven from the free throw line.  Christian Ellis added 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  6-3 Jr. Daniel Kinchen recorded 12 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Justin Benton chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, and five assists.  6-4 Jr. David McFarland added eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Nick Mayo led EKU with 25 points including eight of nine free throws, four rebounds, and three assists.  5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare added 11 points including three three point baskets.  JacQuess Hobbs recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  6-6 So. DeAndre Dishman added 10 points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Zach Charles chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.  6-5 Fr. Zaria Whitlock scored a basket in the closing seconds to give SIUE a 62-60 come-from-behind victory over Eastern Kentucky.  EKU led 48-40 after three quarters but SIUE rallied for the victory.  The score was tied nine times and there were 10 lead changes in the game.  SIUE shot 38.1% from the field including one of eight from the three point line.  The Cougars connected on 15 of 18 free throws. pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 EKU turnovers.  SIUE held an 18-0 advantage in bench points.  EKU shot 39.6% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 SIUE turnovers.

Brittany Davis, and 5-6 Sr. Lindsay Bryant.  Wayne County coach Mark McKinley started the following lineup: 5-6 So. Haleigh Criswell, 5-8 Fr. Alyssa Conn, 5-10 8th Grade Mallory Campbell, 5-5 Fr. Jade Turner, and 5-8 Fr. Macey Blevins.

 

Wayne County defeated Bell County by a score of 52-37.  Wayne County shot 50% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 13 of 23 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored four points off 12 Bell County turnovers.  Bell County shot 24% from the field including four of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cats connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Wayne County turnovers.

 

Macey Blevins led Wayne County with 31 points including 10 of 14 free throws and seven rebounds.  Haleigh Criswell added eight points including two three point baskets.  Mallory Campbell recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

 

Abby Harris led Bell County with 14 points including two three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Brittney Cupp added eight points and nine rebounds.
