Madison Southern assistant coach Donnie Hunley started the following lineup:  6-1 Sr. Savannah Fallis, 5-10 Sr. Conner Coyle, 5-11 Sr. Marley Lawson, 5-3 8th Grade Samantha Cornelison, and 5-6 Jr. Ashlyn Clark.  Berea coach Dammian Stepp countered with 5-10 Sr. Alex Horn, 5-7 So. Alyssa Carter, 6-0 So. Adrienne Beggs, 5-6 Sr. Jordan Sandefur, and 5-5 7th Grade Mati Stepp.

 

Madison Southern captured a hard fought 54-49 victory over Berea.  There were five ties and 10 lead changes in the game.  Madison Southern shot 40% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine Berea turnovers.  Berea shot 39.5% from the field including six of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pirates connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Madison Southern turnovers.

 

Savannah Fallis led Madison Southern with 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Samantha Cornelison added 12 points on four three point baskets.  Ashlyn Clark recorded 10 points and five assists.  Marley Lawson added eight points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.  Conner Coyle chipped in with five points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Jordan Sandefur led Berea with 20 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  Alex Horn added 13 points and nine rebounds.  Adrienne Beggs chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Mati Stepp recorded eight points and six assists.

Franklin County defeated Mason County by a score of 58-50.  Franklin County shot 45.8% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers.  Mason County shot 39.1% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Royals connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.

 

5-8 Sr. Princess Stewart led Franklin County with 18 points and six rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Rebecca Cook added 17 points and nine rebounds.  5-6 Sr. Savannah Courtney recorded 11 points and five rebounds.  5-5 Jr. Kindall Talley chipped in with 10 points.

Boyle County outscored Lafayette 23-13 in the third quarter on their way to a 71-64 victory.  Boyle County shot 63.4% from the field including eight of 11 from the three point line.  The Rebels connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 42.1% from the field including 11 of 32 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 22 Boyle County turnovers.

 

Bryce Slone led Boyle County with 27 points including seven three point baskets and six rebounds.  Will Bramel added 13 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Jason Alexander recorded 12 points and seven assists.  Reese Smith added eight points, four rebounds, and six assists.

 

Cameron Greenup led Lafayette with 14 points including two three point baskets and three steals.  5-10 Jr. Eric Powell added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Jajuante Carpenter recorded 12 points on four three point baskets, three rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  6-1 Jr. Cameron King chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.

Sacred Heart Academy outscored Bullitt East 28-19 in the final quarter to earn a 78-72 victory.  There were 13 lead changes and eight ties in this game.  Sacred Heart Academy shot 53.7% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight Bullitt East turnovers.  Bullitt East shot 43.5% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Chargers connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 12 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Grace Berger led Sacred Heart with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.  5-5 So. Ashlee Harris added 15 points including four three point baskets.  6-0 Fr. Kristen Clemons recorded 14 points on seven of seven field goals, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Kiki Samsel chipped in with nine points.

Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 42 points including nine of 10 from the free throw line, four rebounds, six assists, and seven steals.  Peter Whitman added 12 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Javen Hardin recorded eight points, four rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.  6-6 So. Brice Scott chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.

Tonight Paul Laurence Dunbar held senior night activities and said good bye to Autumn Herriford and Symone Franklin.  Dunbar, in a classy move also presented flowers to Madison Central’s seniors Lindsey Johns, Charity Mack, Mallie Cornett, and Kasi Schneid.

 

Dunbar won the game as Peyton Humphreys hit one of two free throws with three seconds remaining on the clock to give the Bulldogs a 56-55 lead.  Madison Central called a timeout with 2.1 seconds and executed the play that gave Bailee Vanover a contested three point basket attempt at the buzzer that caught the front of the rim and bounced off giving Dunbar the win.  This was a hotly contested game with six lead changes and 10 ties.  Dunbar took the early advantage behind the powerful inside moves of Anaiyah Cotton but Madison Central took a 40-37 lead after three quarters. 

 

Dunbar shot 38.2% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  They connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Madison Central turnovers.  Dunbar held a 19-7 advantage on second chance points.  Madison Central shot 45.3% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on four of nine free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Anaiyah Cotton led Dunbar with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.  Mashayla Cecil added 11 points including three three point baskets.  Autumn Herriford recorded nine points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Peyton Humphreys added eight points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  5-7 So. Cheyenne Fullwood chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.

 

Mallie Cornett led Madison Central with 15 points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Lindsey Johns added 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.  Bailee Vanover recorded 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Charity Mack chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Kylee Smith led Belmont with 24 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Jenny Roy added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Lauren Thompson chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds.  Sally McCabe recorded 11 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Darby Maggard added eight points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and 10 assists.

 

6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky with 23 points, nine rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Alexus Cooper added 13 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.  Mariah Massengill recorded 12 points on four three point baskets and six assists.  Shavontae Naylor also scored 12 points.
