Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Johns, 5-10 Sr. Charity Mack, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-4 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-7 Sr. Kasi Schneid.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 So. Macey Goff, 5-9 Jr. Caroline Bennett, 6-0 Sr. Kiara Pankins, 5-5 Jr. Terri Abram, and 5-9 So. Lindi DeBilzan.

 

Lafayette captured a hard fought 53-49 victory over Madison Central and snapped the Indians’ 12 game winning streak.  Lafayette led 37-25 in the third quarter but Madison Central stormed back to make a close game down the stretch.  There were four lead changes and four ties in the game.  Lafayette’s star Kiara Pankins tallied nine points and six rebounds in the first half but did not return from the locker room for the second half.  Lafayette rallied form a 24-23 halftime deficit and actually outscored Madison Central 30-25 in the second half to earn the victory.

 

Lafayette shot 38% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 32.7% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Lindi DeBilzan led Lafayette with 17 points including four three point baskets, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Caroline Bennett added 15 points and seven rebounds.  Kiara Pankins recorded nine points and six rebounds.  Macey Goff and Terri Abram each recorded six points.

 

 Mallie Cornett had a big night for Madison Central with 17 points, 18 rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Kasi Schneid added 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Lindsey Johns also reached double figures with 10 points.  Bailee Vanover chipped in with five points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Charity Mack added three points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Haley Brock, 5-9 Sr. Brooklyn Snow, 5-3 Sr. Mackenzie McCollum, and 5-3 Sr. Kyra Eads.  Wayne County coach Tim Pyles countered with 5-9 Sr. Ashton Bell, 5-8 Jr. Hannah Jackson, 5-10 Sr. Megan Burchett, 5-7 8th Grade Macey Blevins, and 5-7 Sr. Taylor Bell.

 

Wayne County led 39-28 after three quarters and survived a late Pulaski County rally to earn a 51-47 victory.  Wayne County shot 50% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on nine of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and did not score off five Pulaski County turnovers.  Pulaski County shot 37% from the field including six of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Maroons connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 Wayne County turnovers.

 

Ashton Bell led Wayne County with 16 points and six rebounds.  Macey Blevins added 13 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Hannah Jackson recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.  Taylor Bell chipped in with seven points and Megan Burchett pulled down six rebounds.

 

 Kyra Eads led Pulaski County with 17 points including three three point baskets.  5-5 Fr. Jordyn Stephens added 14 points including two three point baskets.  Brooklyn Snow chipped in with six points.

Henry Clay pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Fleming County by a score of 52-35.  Henry Clay shot 31.1% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Blue devils connected on four of 13 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 41 Fleming County turnovers.  Henry Clay attempted 48 more shots (74-26) than Fleming County.  Fleming County shot 46.2% from the field including two of two from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on nine of 19 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored seven points off 13 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Braxton Price led Henry Clay with 11 points, four assists, and three steals.  5-5 8th Grade Keja Parks added 10 points, four rebounds, and six steals.  Lexi Long chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.  Kiya Thompson added nine points.

Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 16 points and five rebounds.  Zan Payne added 12 points and seven rebounds.  Peter Whitman continues his sterling play of late with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.
