Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-7 Sr. Ja’Mill Powell, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone, and 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins.  Jacksonville State University James Green countered with 6-6 Sr. Christian Cunningham, 6-4 Fr. Jared Hamilton, 6-7 Fr. Jeremy Watson, 6-2 Jr. Greg Tucker, and 6-3 Sr. JaQuail Townser.

 

Eastern Kentucky defeated Jacksonville State by a score of 76-54.  The score was tied five times and there were three lead changes but the Colonels pulled away in the second half for the victory.  Eastern Kentucky shot 50.9% from the field including eight of 16 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Jacksonville State turnovers.  Jacksonville State shot 27.3% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 17 of 27 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 21 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Javontae Hawkins led Eastern Kentucky with 14 points.  Nick Mayo added 13 points and five rebounds.  6-1 So. Paul Jackson recorded 10 points.  Jarelle Reischel chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, and four assists. 

 

Greg Tucker led Jacksonville State with 15 points including two three point baskets and nine of nine free throws.  JaQuail Townser added nine points, three rebounds, four assists, and five steals.  Jeremy Watson recorded eight points and eight rebounds.  5-9 Fr. DelFincko Bogan chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.  Christian Cunningham recorded seven points, six rebounds, and five blocked shots.

Craig Bradshaw led Belmont with 33 points including four three point baskets and 13 of 16 free throws.  Bradshaw pulled down nine rebounds, and dished out five assists.  Evan Bradds added 18 points and 11 rebounds.  6-8 Jr. Nick Smith recorded 13 points including three three point baskets.  Austin Luke dished out eight assists.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Jarelle Reischel added 19 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins recorded 19 points including nine of nine free throws and seven rebounds.  6-1 So. Eastern Kentucky’s Jarelle Reischel missed a potential game winning shot at the buzzer and Tennessee State held on for a 79-78 victory.  The score was tied four times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Tennessee State shot 47.8% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  They connected on 29 of 37 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 40% from the field including 13 of 31 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 19 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 18 Tennessee State turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky suffered from foul woes as Nick Mayo and Anthony Pratt Jr. both fouled out.  Mayo was limited to 14 minutes of playing time.

Tahjere McCall led Tennessee State with 22 points including 11 of 13 free throws.  6-2 Sr. Keron DeShields added 18 points, seven assists, and three steals.  Xavier Richards chipped in with 11 points.  Demontez Loman pulled down nine rebounds and blocked three shots.

Ja’Mill Powell led Eastern Kentucky with 25 points including six three point baskets.  6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel added 13 points and seven rebounds.  Isaac McGlone added 11 points including three three point baskets, four assists, and four steals.  6-1 So. Austin Peay coach David Midlick started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Sydney Gooch, 5-10 Sr. Symantha Norton, 5-11 Jr. Beth Rates, 5-7 Sr. Tiasha Gray, and 5-8 So. Falon Baker.  Eastern Kentucky coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-1 Jr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-10 Sr. Shameekia Murray, 6-1 Sr. Miranda Maples, 5-8 Jr. Alexus Cooper, and 5-10 Jr. Michaela Hunter.

 

The score was tied 52-52 after three quarters but Eastern Kentucky outscored Austin Peay 30-16 in the final quarter to earn an 82-68 victory.  The score was tied six times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Eastern Kentucky shot 48.3% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 21 of 22 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Austin Peay turnovers.  Austin Peay shot 41.4% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 14 of 24 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Michaela Hunter led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points including six of six free throws and four assists.  Jalen O’Bannon added 18 points and seven rebounds.  Shameekia Murray recorded 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Miranda Maples chipped in with nine points.  Alexus Cooper added eight points and six rebounds.

 

Tiasha Gray led Austin Peay with 26 points including four three point baskets, eight rebounds, and four assists.  6-2 Jr. Tearra Banks added eight points.
