Longwood coach Jayson Gee started the following lineup: 6-6 So. Khris Lane, 6-3 So. Kanayo Obi-Rapu, 6-8 Sr. Lotanna Mwogbo, 5-10 Sr. Tra’Vaughn White, and 6-2 Jr. Darrion Allen.  Ball State coach James Whitford countered with 6-6 Sr. Bo Calhoun, 6-6 Sr. Ryan Weber, 6-6 Jr. Franko House, 6-3 So. Francis Kiapway, and 6-4 Jr. Naiel Smith.

 

Ball State pulled away in the second half to defeat Longwood by a score of 78-67.  The score was tied six times and there were 12 lead changes.  Ball State shot 45.3% from the field including six of 21 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 24 of 28 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 13 Longwood turnovers.  Longwood shot 42.9% from the field including eight of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Lancers connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Ball State turnovers.

 

Ryan Weber led Ball State with 17 points including two three point baskets, nine of 10 free throws, and six rebounds.  Franko House added 14 points and six rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Jeremiah Davis chipped in with nine points including seven of seven free throws.

 

Kanayo Obi-Rapu led Longwood with 21 points including five three point baskets.  Khris Lane added 18 points and nine rebounds.  6-8 Fr. Chris Shields recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and three steals.

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points and five rebounds.  Javontae Hawkins added 19 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and five assists.  Jarelle Reischel recorded 18 points including 11 of 14 free throws and seven rebounds.

 

Ed Stephens led South Carolina State with 21 points including five three point baskets.  Gabriel McCray added 18 points and five rebounds.  Eric Eaves recorded 16 points and Greg Mortimer chipped in with 10 points.
