Nick Mayo, 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone, and 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins.

 

Eastern Kentucky captured a hard fought 89-81 victory over Ball State.  There were six ties and five lead changes in the game with Ball State opening the game with a 13-0 run.  Eastern Kentucky shot 56.5% from the field including 11 of 22 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 26 of 30 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 18 Ball State turnovers.  Ball State shot 47.5% from the field including 12 of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 16 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

6-4 Jr. Jonathan Hood led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points including five three point baskets.  Javontae Hawkins added 20 points including 10 of 10 free throws.  6-4 Jr. Jaylen Babb-Harrison recorded 14 points including three three point baskets.  6-7 Sr. Ja’Mill Powell chipped in with 13 points.

 

Ryan Weber led Ball State with 19 points including four three point baskets.  Franko House added 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Francis Kiapway chipped in with 15 points on five three point baskets.  6-2 So. Jeremie Tyler recorded 10 points.

Craig Ponder led UNCW with 24 points, four assists, and three steals.  Dylan Sherwood added 16 points and nine rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Denzel Ingram recorded 15 points and four assists.  Chuck Ogbodo chipped in with seven points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.

Eastern Illinois defeated Eastern Kentucky 21-7 on a cold windy day with snow flurries.  Eastern Kentucky was ineffective today on offense losing two fumbles and having five passes intercepted.  Eastern Kentucky finished up the game with their string Quarterback due to injuries.  Eastern Illinois recorded 12 first downs and 240 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized six times for 48 yards.  Eastern Kentucky recorded 14 first downs and 193 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized twice for 30 yards, lost two fumbles, and had five passes intercepted.

Malik Harrison led Eastern Illinois’ ground game with 79 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Devin Church carried the ball 15 times for 37 yards.  Jalen Whitlow added 26 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Jalen Whitlow completed eight of 21 passes for 72 yards.  Anthony Taylor caught two passes for 20 yards.  Addison Bounds and James Brooks each caught one pass for 22 and 19 yards respectively.  B. Dewberry led the defense with eight solo tackles and two interceptions.  Dino Fanti added five solo tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 21 yards.  Seth McDonald recorded four solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 17 yards.  J. Wickliffe intercepted two passes and Nick Horne scored on a 62 yard fumble recovery return.

Ethan Thomas led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 40 yards on 11 carries.  Adam Lane carried the ball 11 times for 38 yards.  Tyler Swafford completed 10 of 24 passes for 99 yards with four interceptions.  Bennie Coney completed nine of 17 passes for 54 yards with one interception.  Ben Madon caught six passes for 52 yards.  Arien Beasley added four receptions for 49 yards.  LaJuan Smith blocked a punt and Tyrell Curry recovered the ball and ran 35 yards for a touchdown.  Chris Kelly led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Kiante Northington added six solo and two assisted tackles.  Buck Solomon recorded six solo and one assisted tackles with one of his losses resulting in a 14 yard loss.  Noah Spence chipped in with three solo and four assisted tackles.

Paintsville 48  Paris 28 – Kash Daniel passed for 202 yards and three touchdowns and scored on a 44 yard run.

 

Pikeville 50  Hazard 6 – Daric Pugh carried the ball 13 times for 191 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Russellville 41  Bethlehem 20 – Joshua Bigbee carried the ball 10 times for 83 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Belfry 52  Lawrence County 12 – Xondre Willis carried the ball nine times for 155 yards and a touchdown and Belfry took advantage of Lawrence County’s five turnovers tonight.

 

Elizabethtown 32  Caldwell County 27 – Jack Wilson threw a 37 yard touchdown pass to Peyton Payne with 1.9 seconds in the game to earn the victory.  Wilson completed 14 of 24 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Lexington Catholic 14  Central 13 – Lexington Catholic rallied from a 13-0 deficit to earn the victory.  Eric Sottile blocked a 23 yard field goal attempt by Sebastian Francisco with seven seconds remaining on the clock to ensure the victory.

Johnson Central 27  Scott 26 – Bryce Workman threw a 30 yard touchdown pass to Geordan Blanton at the horn for the victory.  Roberto London ran for 136 yards and three touchdowns for Scott.

 

Shelby County 44  John Hardin 14 – Michael Perry ran for 154 yards and scored two on the ground and caught a TD pass.  Malik Manica added 124 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to lead Shelby County.

 

Wayne County 42  Knox Central 14 – Dalton Garner carried the ball 22 times for 135 yards and three touchdowns.

Fern Creek 21  South Oldham 20 – Jamison White carried the ball 22 times for 217 yards and a touchdown.

 

Highlands 44  Covington Catholic 22 – Nick Kendall carried the ball 25 times for 222 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Pulaski County 28  North Laurel 24 – Jaylon Conwell carried the ball 11 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

Lafayette 36  Scott County 30 – Mason Alstatt carried the ball 14 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Walker Wood carried the ball 20 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns and Wood completed 14 of 21 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown to lead Lafayette.  Noah Hughes carried the ball 32 times for 177 yards and three touchdowns to lead Scott County.

 

Male 20  Trinity 19 – Trinity missed a conversion kick to tie the game.  Zackery Smith scored on a 45 punt return and caught a 14 yard touchdown pass and Devin Gentry ran for 110 yards and a touchdown to lead Male.

 

Simon Kenton 13  Cooper 12 – Cameron Racke carried the ball 25 times for 157 yards and a touchdown and Dillion Powell added 148 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries to lead Simon Kenton.
