West All-Stars coach Roderick Thomas (Paducah Tilghman) started the following lineup: Alex Hibbs (Presentation), J’Nayah Hall (Apollo), Leslie Fries (PRP), Aaliyah Rogers (Caldwell County), and Karlee Humphrey (Paducah Tilghman).  East All-Stars coach Judie Mason (Danville) countered with Logan Fraley (Boyd County), Asia Sims (Bourbon County), Sandra Skinner (George Rogers Clark), Cameron McPherson (Danville), and Adison Corder (Southwestern).

J’Nayah Hall scored in the closing seconds to give the West All-Stars a 104-102 victory over the East All-Stars.  There were six lead changes and seven ties in this game.  West shot 55.4% from the field including eight of 14 from the three point line.  They connected on14 of 28 free throws, pulled down 55 rebounds, and scored 15 points off eight East turnovers.  East shot 40.2% from the field including 13 of 37 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 16 West turnovers.  East attempted 92 shots from the field compared to74 attempts for the West.

Alexandria Peden (Waggener) was named MVP for the West squad and led her team with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Aaliyah Rogers added 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.  Ansley Stalcup (Clinton County) recorded 17 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Leslie Fries added 16 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, and seven assists.  J’Nayah Hall recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Cameron McPherson was named MVP for the East squad and led her team with 31 points including five three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists.  Sandra Skinner added 20 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Adison Corder recorded 19 points including three three point baskets.  Logan Fraley chipped in with 15 points on five three point baskets.  Ajaycia Cotton (Clay County) dished out six assists.  Kelsey Garcia (Sheldon Clark) and Asia Sims pulled down eight and seven rebounds respectively.

Allen County-Scottsville coach Brad Bonds started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Morgan Rich, 5-10 8^th Grade Sarah Sutton, 6-1 Sr. Holly Robinson, 5-6 Jr. Jordan Brooks, and 5-8 Jr. Savannah Gregory.  Covington Holy Cross coach Kes Murphy countered with 5-10 Sr. Abby Hassert, 5-7 So. Aleah Tucker, 6-2 Sr. Ally Mayhaus, 5-7 Jr. Dajah McClendon, and 5-8 Sr. Deja Turner.

Abby Hassert scored a basket and free throw with 5.5 seconds remaining on the clock to give Covington Holy Cross a 35-32 victory over Allen County-Scottsville.  The score was tied 32-32 when Covington Holy Cross’ Dajah McClendon stole the ball and after a timeout Hassert found an opening down the lane for the winning score.  These were Hassert’s only points of the game.  Allen County-Scottsville had one more chance but a last second three point attempt missed the mark.  There were seven ties and six lead changes in the game.  Holy Cross also captured the All “A” Classic Championship earlier this year. 

The Lady Indians did not have an easy path as they defeated Bell County featuring Kentucky signee Maci Morris.  Next was a victory over tournament favorite Elizabethtown featuring two time Kentucky Gatorade Player of the year Erin Boley.  Their semifinal victory was over a very good Male team and captured the championship with a victory over Allen County-Scottsville led by Kentucky signee Morgan Rich.

Covington Holy Cross shot 48.4% from the field including two of four from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 14 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Allen County-Scottsville turnovers.  Allen County-Scottsville shot 36.7% from the field including four of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Patriots connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored three points off seven Covington Holy Cross turnovers.

Deja Turner led Covington Holy Cross with 13 points and five rebounds.  Ally Mayhaus added 10 points and two blocked shots.  Dajah McClendon recorded five points, four assists, and two steals.

Morgan Rich led Allen County-Scottsville with 20 points including three three point baskets.  Savannah Gregory added five points and seven rebounds.  Holly Robinson pulled down seven rebounds and blocked two shots.

This was the fourth time that these two played each other this season and Doss owns all four victories including tonight by a score of 55-49 for the regional championship.  DeSales led after the first quarter by a score of 19-14 but Doss outscored the Colts 41-30 over the next three quarters to earn the victory.

6-0 Sr. Terrell Gray led Doss with 17 points and eight rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Tyler Jefferson added 15 points and six rebounds.  5-7 Sr. Dujuanta Weaver also reached double figures with 11 points.

6-6 Sr. Chase Shellman led DeSales with 24 points.  5-11 So. Jaxson Burgess, 6-1 Sr. Shaun Sullivan, and 6-3 Sr. Trenton Saylor added eight, seven, and seven points respectively.

DuPont Manual vs. Ballard (Boys)

Ballard came back from the dead once again to stage yet another improbable comeback to defeat Manual by a score of 67-60 in overtime.  Manual led 24-4 early in the second quarter and held a 48-38 lead with approximately seven minutes left in the game.  Ballard roared back to take a 55-53 lead with a minute and a half left in the game.  Jarrett Harness scored to tie the game at 55-55 but missed the ensuing free throw with 14 seconds remaining on the clock.  However Manual had another chance but missed the shot at the buzzer and the game went to overtime.  Manual took an early 57-55 lead but Ballard closed out the game with 12-3 run.  Ballard led 60-57 with 1:20 left on the clock when Harness was assessed a foul on a steal attempt and also picked up a technical for reportedly slamming the ball to the floor.  Jamil Wilson calmly connected on all four free throws putting the game out of reach.

6-1 Sr. Jalen Perry led Ballard with 25 points and eight rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Anthony Eaves added 14 points and six rebounds. 5-7 So. Jamil Wilson also reached double figures with 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

6-5 Sr. Dwayne Sutton led Manual with 20 points and 12 rebounds.  5-9 Sr. JaKory Freeman added 11 points.

Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 Sr. Reese Ryan, 6-5 Sr. Walker Boothe, 5-10 Sr. Michael Talbott, and 6-2 Sr. Jarod Griffin.  Bryan Station coach Tommy Johnson countered with 6-3 Sr. Tequan Claitt, 6-1 Sr. Josh Owsley, 6-8 Sr. Chase Caldwell, 6-0 Jr. Andre Davis, and 6-0 Sr. CJ Walker.

Lexington Catholic led 35-23 in the third quarter and withstood a furious Bryan Station rally in the final quarter to earn a 56-53 victory and the regional championship.  There were seven lead changes and four ties in this game.  Lexington Catholic shot 55.6% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored one point off nine Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 36.7% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Tournament MVP Michael Talbott led Lexington Catholic with 21 points and four rebounds.  Talbott was seven of 10 from the field and seven of eight free throws.  Jarod Griffin added 13 points.  Tanner Johnson recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.  Reese Ryan dished out six assists.

6-2 Jr. Tim Dunn led Bryan Station with 17 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Tequan Claitt added 14 points and five rebounds.  CJ Walker recorded 10 points and five assists.  Andre Davis chipped in with eight points.

Holy Cross led 24-19 at halftime on their way to a 53-43 victory over Holmes.  Holy Cross improves their record to 29-3 while Holmes finishes their season at 30-3.  5-8 Sr. Deja Turner hit the trifecta tonight as she scored her 2000^th career point, led Holy Cross with 22 points and six rebounds, and was named Tournament MVP.  6-2 Sr. Ally Mayhaus added 13 points and 5-10 Sr. Abby Hassert recorded 10 points.

Seygan Robbins led Mercer County with 19 points.  5-7 So. Lyric Houston added 16 points and six rebounds.  5-4 Sr. Catheryne Claunch recorded 13 points and six rebounds.

Bell County’s 6-0 Sr. Maci Morris would appear to have everything, a leading contender for Miss Basketball and a scholarship to the University of Kentucky but tonight she realized her dream of leading her team to the state tournament with a 59-38 victory over Harlan.  Bell County raced out to a 32-13 halftime lead and was never threatened.  Bell County shot a sizzling 57% from the field and connected on 24 of 26 free throws.

Maci Morris led Bell County with 25 points including nine of 10 free throws.  5-10 Jr. Katrina Johnson added 13 points and 5-4 Sr. Jessica Sanders recorded 11 points.  6-0 Jr. Zoe Taylor chipped in with eight points.

5-10 So. Emma Bianchi led Harlan with 13 points.  5-5 So. Jordan Brock, 5-9 Fr. Mackenzie King, and 5-5 Jr. Brooklyn Massingill each recorded seven points.

George Rogers Clark vs. Mason County (Girls)

Mason County withstood a late George Rogers Clark rally to earn a 51-47 victory over the defending regional championship.  Mason County coach Piper Lindsey could only tell her young team (two 8^th graders, eight sophs, and five freshmen) the joys of making it to the state tournament as she made the trip in 2004 but now they will be able to build their own memories.

This game was a roller coaster of emotions as Mason County raced out to a 14-8 lead after the first quarter of action.  Mason County hit some key three point baskets to hold a 24-19 lead at halftime.  George Rogers Clark fought back and actually led 32-31 after three quarters.  Mason County rallied to take the lead and led by an excellent effort by 5-8 So. Whitney O’Mara held on for the victory.  Free throw shooting proved to be an Achilles’ heel for GRC today as they only connected on seven of 15 from the charity stripe.

5-8 So. Whitney O’Mara led Mason County with 22 points.  5-9 So. Maddie Boone added 10 points.  5-3 So. Briana Littleton and 5-8 So. Briana McNutt chipped in with nine and six points respectively.  McNutt pulled down seven rebounds.

5-8 Sr. Paige Taylor and 5-10 Jr. Sydney Anderson led GRC with 12 points each.  6-3 So. Elizabeth Hardiman added 11 points and 6-1 Sr. Sandra Skinner chipped in with nine points.  Skinner pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.
